giveaway: rae dunn clay

july marks the last month of giveaways and we're pulling out all the stops. i am so happy about all the fabulous items lined up for the giving. arts + crafts are inspiring. i just love beautifully crafted handmade goods. today's giveaway is no exception.

i am delighted to feature rae dunn, a favorite artist of mine. ever since i purchased a shallow set of bowls many years ago, when pottery barn featured her designs, i've admired rae's work every day (literally; over bowls of linguine, ramen and spinach salads). her work speaks to me. unique and charming, understated and beautiful, subtle and sweet. rae's ceramics are my go-to gift for the special people in my life. am so glad that amidst creating art gallery pieces, designing new wares and molding items by hand, rae keeps up a small etsy shop for people like me to browse & buy. she wraps each item with care and customizes to your heart's content. i love the simple, natural and undone quality about her work. i adore the choices of words she includes too; stamped or cursive script.

rae's clay speaks for itself.

rae dunn is offering one m.writes reader a knock on wood plate. simply leave a comment to enter to win. tell me what you are knocking on wood about. what are you hoping for these days? comments are open until monday / july 6 / midnight / mountain time. a random winner will be announced tuesday.

thank you, rae.

p.s. stay tuned. another giveaway offer will be featured this saturday to kick off a mighty celebration for this sweet land of liberty. both giveaway ops will be open until monday at midnight, allowing for out-of-towners to join in.

My husband's one compulsion is that he's constantly knocking on things for luck; half the time he doesn't even realize he's doing it! And these days we're both knocking for a healthy, happy baby (I'm 14 wks pregnant with our first!).

I love the statement that you used for our wonderful, free country that we live in the "Sweet Land of Liberty". I might borrow that statement for my blog post tomorrow. I could not have said it better myself. It really does describe our country best or the way I like to think of it. How blessed we are and I am very thankful to the Lord for that.
