am calling it a night early so i can get over to dan in real life on tbs, my icy sprite and pizza and snuggling my own dan in real life on the sofa. i love cozy nights in. congratulations.. the winners are monika who is planning to make christmas cookies on sunday and ashley who is having breakfast with santa (which seems pretty amazing as he was just in our town with benji on his lap a few hours ago)!

    This weekend.... We are going up to the Mountains to find our perfect Christmas tree for our new little house. Being a 1st grade teacher, I need to start on my report cards while listening to holiday music of course =)

  3. I'm in full Christmas spirit! I'm visiting a local mansion in the Hudson Valley that will be all decorated for the holidays and going to a bunch of local craft fairs to do my holiday shopping (and hoping for a little bit of snow to add to the holiday spirit).

  8. This weekend, my daughter has Nutcracker practice AND downtown is hosting a tree lighting AND you can watch the black and white version of Miracle on 34th Street in the the old theater for FREE - add hot chocolate and a snowy forcast --- that's pretty close to perfect to me!!

  9. my husband is the head womens basketball coach for grace university (a private christian college)...and i am his assistant! haha! scary? so that takes up our weekend! plus the game. Nebraska vs. Texas

    and there is a giant christmas tree needing some decorations hung...

  26. It's a holiday festival in the village tomorrow. Old timey carolers, St. Nick and musicians. I hope it warms up just a tiny bit so I don't feel too bad bringing Z out in the cold. But I think she will love the atmosphere!

  29. Saturday is a big day: we're headed to a community tree sale (crafts and stories for the kids, hot chocolate and soup) in the morning and a Santa parade in the evening. I'm hoping to decorate the tree on Sunday. If I'm not in the spririt after that, I'm in trouble!!!!

    Tonight, my husband and I are (getting a babysitter and) going to the Residents' Holiday Party - the only chance all year to see ALL our friends all together! Dinner, dancing, and a sweet new dress.

  39. This weekend is my sweetheart's birthday. I will make dinner, and we are destined to make the first fire of the season (I hope it is cold enough!) while laying on blankets listening to great music.
    We also always watch 'Love Actually' the first weekend in December no matter what to get us in the holiday spirit and feel all lovey dovey. Sigh.

Eating pizza with my extended family, going to a Santa Claus parade, visiting my favourite local crafters, buying some Christmas gifts and supplies to *make* Christmas gifts, wrapping gifts for my parents, doing laundry, making cupcakes for friends, writing another eight pages about a Canadian philosopher and historian (George Grant), eating brunch with my husband, having sex at least twice, watching football and playing cards, and getting to bed before midnight on Sunday.

    Luckily I have a three day weekend.

  62. I am going to finish decorating and help my husband build our second coop for our 2 month old chickens that are currently living in my laundry room, too cold for them to be in the barn.     Tomorrow is the Montrose Christmas parade, which my sister will be marching in for her high school band. It'll be my first time watching with my mom, so I can't wait. Plus, it'll be chilly tomorrow evening! And nothing's better than seeing trees lining the street with Christmas lights strewn about. It's just so magical. Sunday: reserved for church and a lovely brunch. :]
