  1. That's easy -- tomatoes are the best. I love them any and every way, as long as they aren't the nasty things you buy in the supermarket in winter. The tomato season at the farms near me is heaven.

    I adore the calendar tea towel. It reminds me of my great-grandmother who always had one hanging in her kitchen when I was a kid.

  2. hmmm, it really depends. it has to be fresh and local. So maybe I would say mango or pineapple, because then I would be in a warm, tropical island paradise!

    I have loved these prints. I wanted one last year but they sold out!

    I would have to say fresh, vine ripe tomatos...rubbed with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt..then tossed on the grill! Perfection, sweet perfection!!

  12. The calendar tea towel is so cool!! And my answer is simply summer, home-grown tomatoes...drizzled with olive oil and a smidge of balsamic vinegar with tons of fresh basil and a dash of salt and pepper...my mouth is already watering!!!

  13. *brussels sprouts* cut in half and cooked face down in some olive oil and salt on med-high heat until caramel-brown on the bottom and tender in the middle. You have to eat them w/in about 10 minutes for the flavor to stay perfect.

  15. peaches. UTAH peaches. fresh ones. from 8th north in orem.

    i cut them up, sprinkle with a little sugar and pour milk on top. mmm. delish.

    i am a strong believer in buying local. love that print!

    I love so many vegs: bok coy and brocolli in the winter - steamed or sauted with a little tamari. Blueberries in the summer with everything. Oh and apples, just plain or with a side of cheese. And salad, need my plate of leafy greens with just a little tomato and cucumber and salt and vinegar/oil dressing.

  22. My fave vegetable is Eggplant and I love it any way you can serve it---but I eat it most grilled with salt, olive oil and a sprinkle of balsamic!

  23. Hmmmm, it's so hard to pick a favorite, but I have to say I've never met a raspberry I didn't like :) As for preparation, I'd pick nice and fresh the way nature made them, but any number of preparations would make me happy! Love the print.

  24. Potatoes! I looove my potatoes. I grow all my own to supply myself for the year and I enjoy them in every single style! Mashed, hashbrowns, shredded, friend fries, baked, everything! So delicious.

  29. my favorite would have to be my Nona's artichokes. She boils them, then she puts a mixture of olive oil, garlic, and red crushed pepper in between the leaves. Most amazing thing ever!

  31. I love cherries, and we get the best local ones! they are so cheap in the summer that I make marmalade, pie, crumble and anything I can think of but the best is just as snack in front of the TV

  37. for months i've been head over heels for baby bok choy with soy sauce and lemon juice...it makes this japanese sauce called ponzu... then some spicy red pepper chili sauce to spice things up. i like it HOT and served on a bed of rice. yum

  39. this is so very hard. a FAVORITE?! i have to pick one? well, it would be between oranges, apples, blueberries, peas, or tomatoes. mmmm... all of them. i think i might have to buy this if i don't win the giveaway. i am obsessed with food and eating sustainably and locally. i am excited about this one.

  48. We go through avacados like crazy around here. I love them, my husband loves them and our kids constantly request them. Favorite way to have them. Guacamole, homeade that is!

    Pink Lady Apples - ever tried them? Sometimes hard to find and a bit more expensive, but WORTH IT! I eat them all day long . . . now my kids are hooked too!

    Cucumbers! I work and live on a farm, and over the summer months I learned the art of PICKLING! Instead of vinegar pickling, I prefer the method of lacto-fermentation which allows the cucumbers to naturally ferment in a salt water brine. Crispy and delicious!

  61. My favorite veggie is spinach. I'll eat it raw in salad--or snack on it fresh picked from the garden. But sauteed with chopped garlic and a spritz of lemon is my absolute fave.

    Fave fruit is strawberries, served up plain or dipped in chocolate or cream + brown sugar.

    Fave vegetable is asparagus, roasted or grilled on the BBQ. Yum!
