a bit of a bio :: I'm a stay at home mom of a sweet little boy. I love nature and love "bringing nature" into my home through decorating. I first made this little fabric tree as a keepsake for my son and the idea grew from there. I started making "family trees" that have the parents names or initials hand sewn onto the tree with the children's names underneath. Each tree is personalized to your specifications and hand sewn by me. I also have a sale going through May 1st for Mother's Day. Free shipping and buy two trees for $40.

thank you meg! please visit her blog + shop.

  2. I've inherited my grandparents positive outlook on life. They are immigrants from Germany, who rolled up their sleeves, came to America, started their own company.

Their positive outlook on life never ceases to amaze me. Everyday they wake up with a purpose and a vision; always leaving positive energy wherever they tread.

  19. The joke in my family is that I am my dad re-made into a girl. When I was about 13 years old we compared me to a picture of him . . . it could have been me in the picture! I have similar quirks and a similar personality as he does. It is fun to tease him when one of the "less desirable" traits comes out.

The family trees are so cute!

  20. Long spindly fingers (from my mother). Great for (pretending) I play the piano!

  21. I know this is more nurture vs. nature, but I've inherited my mom's absolute fear of snakes. And if I have one goal in life, it is to make sure that I DO NOT pass this on to my own kids.

These trees are stunning. I'm now going to hop over to her site. Can't wait to see more...

  23. Oh I love the family trees! So perfect for Mother's Day!

I definatly inherited my Dad's work ethic. I grew up in a blue collar family, and my dad worked his butt off to make sure that we never went without anything and not once that I can ever remember did he ever complain about the hard labor or long hours. I'm lucky now to be able to stay at home with my kids, but when something needs done around my house, a friend needs help, or the oppertunity to volunteer somewhere I do it without arguement or complaint.

  57. oh my, these trees are absolutely the greatest things on the planet! love them!

and oh my goodness I have so many traits from my mother. in fact, they say I was a little carbon-copy of my mother when I was growing up (looks-wise, not sure about personality-wise). and it sounds weird, but sometimes when I look out my own eyes, I feel I know how my mother sees the world because it's as if I'm looking out hers. I think it's because we have so many similar features, if that even makes sense. oh, and I also got her tender-heart trait, which really just means that I cry about anything and everything. every strong (and sometimes not so strong) emotion that I feel comes out my eyeballs. slightly embarrassing sometimes :)
