a bit of a bio :: i'm a stay at home mom who loves to keep busy by creating. loves the sunshine, walking to the mail box with my dog and little boy, chocolate covered donuts and lazy saturdays with my husband. i sell simple, dainty stud earrings and photography in my little "gift shop".

My mom has taught me everything she knows and has given up everything for her kids... she always put us first. Not only is she my mother, but she and my dad are my very best friends... and that's why she's so awesome!

My mum is awesome because she was a single mum (back in the day when they were few and far between) who worked two jobs AND got her masters degree while raising children. Yet she somehow always managed to be fully involved in our lives, always there when needed, and everything went to us. Now everybody's grown up, and she's a Canadian diplomat living in Geneva. She is beautiful, strong, and am amazing role model.

ReplyDeleteIn addition to successfully raising 3 kids of her own, my mother adopted 3 special needs children. So now at an age where she should be retired, gardening all day and contemplating a move to Florida, she is going to doctors appointments and meeting with special education teachers.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is awsome because first of all she is my mom - does there have to be any other reason? Well, ok there are a million other reasons like she loves me for being me, she supports me in any way, she cares for me no matter what, she believes in me whatever I do, she is proud of me even if I fail, ... and she got on an air plane - even so she has a huge fear of flying - and flew across the ocean to visit me.

My Mother is what i aspire to be she is fun loving, thoughtful and very supportive and a true fighter. She found out she had brest cancer a few years ago and i never heard her ask why and that the kimo sucks. she was strong and beautiful the way she carried herself and our family while we were all scarred{she has been in remishion 2 years and counting}. She is truely wonderful and i love her so much.

My mom has always gone to bat for me, even if she thought I was in the wrong (and i often was!) She would have spent her last dime on me to help me through college, and she has always believed in me. Even when no one else has.

ReplyDeletemy mom is awesome because she donated her kidney to a complete stranger. she was preparing to donate to my aunt who passed away before donation could be completed. my mom promised my aunt that she would continue on and still make her donation, honoring my aunt and changing someone else's life.

My mom is awesome because when we were younger she and my dad never let on that were weren't very wealthy. I always felt safe and rich with all the games and experiences they gave us.
ReplyDeletemy mom is a giver. she gives all of herself to our dad and our family. yet she gives even more and more to serve others. she gives her time, energy, resources, ideas to serve those who are often forgotten. i'm amazed at how much there is for her to give and how willingly she gives it.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest the most awesome mom in my life is my Mother in Law. I have been very blessed that I was able to marry into such a great family. Mum is so thoughtful, caring, creative and prayerful. She loves me and adores our five children. I love that she lives so close and can see her just about whenever.

ReplyDeleteMy mom is amazing because she is true to her faith despite adversity. At 18 she left the church she was raised in despite her parents wishes to join another faith. She has lost her sister, her father, and a child all in the space of 5 years. She has stood by my father and made great sacrifices to meet the needs of her children after he was unemployed on two separate occasions for more than a year both times. Never once have I ever heard her complain or ask "why me?" She just keeps on moving having faith that God is looking out for her and that heartache and trials don't last forever.
ReplyDeleteShe thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread (wich I'm not!) AND she's very implicated in her community. She does a lot of volunteer work, never counting the hours.

ReplyDeleteMy mom was the most wonderful person I have had the chance to know. She passed away from a strong battle with breast cancer 2 months after I got married. I always loved her because she was my mom but it took me having a child of my own to truly realize what a remarkable woman she was. She sacrificed so much for me and my sisters so we could be successful in our endeavors and for that I will forever be grateful and can learn from her example in raising my family!!

ReplyDeleteMy Mom is the most selfless person I know. She is always putting others before her! She is going to have a bday on May 19th she will be 65. My mom has been taking care of my quadraplegic sister for almost 8 years now! I don't know how she does it, but she is one awesome Mama! I love my Mom more than anything! I love the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteAfter a 20 year career in childcare, winning a battle with breast cancer, and retraining as a home care and respite worker at 60, my mom has spent the last year enjoying a very busy retirement. Her energy has always been mythic, and aside from an earlier bedtime these days, she's still going strong. She's taught herself to weave, spins, knits, maintains a large garden, and catching up on travelling to visit all her friends and relatives, and has just entered the world of high speed internet. She is a woman who is committed to overcoming limits, and facing challenges.

My wonderful mother raised 10 children while living on a farm and also working fulltime in a local factory. Growing up I didn't often appreciate at times how hard she worked and sacrificed for us, never complaining!

ReplyDeleteMy mom has never told me what to do. Instead she sits and listens to everything I have to say and let's me work things out on my own. It was incredibly frustrating growing up because I wanted "the answers" but as I have grown up I have realized how much harder it must have been to sit with patience while I made my own mistakes to learn from and paved my own path. For that, my mom is my hero.

My mum let (and lets) me try parenting styles contrary to the way she raised me. She praises the successes and encourages the failures. She never says I told you so, and came over multiple nights in the wee hours of the morning to console my colicky baby when I was unable to. She never has raised her voice in anger and always is my biggest fan. She also loves my husband just as much as she loves me.
