please comment today to enter to win.
tell me a piece of advise you'd like to pass on.
you only have until tonight to enter.

a bit of a bio :: Gadanke is a handmade book shop of writing prompt journals, minibooks, and love letters. I want to help people create the type of journal that they'll be inspired to write and later, treasure. Materials I use include Italian patterned papers, 100% recycled German papers, pockets, and tags. My husband and I live abroad in a 480 square foot apartment in Berlin, Germany. Celebrate your story! That's our motto - in the shop and in life.

thank you katie! please visit her blog + shop.

congratulations to... tara who commented, As a stay-at-home mom that is constantly cleaning, and re-cleaning, my advise is: do something everyday that can't be undone. i.e. call a friend, read a story to a child, write in your journal. I obviously need help with the writing in journal part, or I wouldn't desperately be wanting these cute journals.

p.s. thank you everyone for joining in on the giveaway series. i am super pleased and am delighted in your comments. i am skipping town soon, but i have one more giveaway scheduled and more mother's day posts in the works for the weekend. and a big tutorial set up for tuesday. tune in..

  1. So pretty!

    Advice?

Passion is not expectation. Changed my life!

  2. Everything happens for a reason. Wow. I truly believe this. No matter how hard it is to accept that when something happens, the answer appears at some point to bring peace and closure.

I used to live in Berlin, too! And I love this idea. Great shop.

  3. Like yourself. Be kind to yourself. Not in a "I love myself" kind of way, just accept who you are. :)

    ReplyDelete
  4. These are so great! I LOVE that they are ringed instead of bound.

Don't worry too much because it all works out in the end.

  5. Sell high, buy low.

  6. I'm going to Berlin this summer!

My advice is to wear it like it matches!

  7. wow, this is the first mother's day giveaway that i've entered but i couldn't resist! these journals are inspiring and unique (much like your mini-diaries!) and i'd love to have one, either for myself or to pass on to my mom!

i don't know if this is advice, but more of an important theme: balance. try to find balance in everything you do. balance between work and home, family and friends, laughter and tears, running around and lounging, junk food and healthy food. balance is the key, i think.

  9. My advice, that has been working for me real well past year. Those voices that like to tell you that you don't measure up, when you hear them coming tell them they have to leave and then tell yourself that you do measure up. This has done wonders for my attitude and my motivation to do the things I want to do.

  10. Ooh, these journals are so neat. If I don't win (and I fully expect not to), I think I will fashion one of my own.

I think my best advise I could pass on to someone is that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. That is, you have to be happy to make others happy.

    Happy Mother's Day Marta!

since I work at a high school, my advice would be: High School really isn't everything... life still lies ahead!

Oh.... I would also like to add: "It's not all about you." I think there are a lot of teenagers who need to know that their life is not being videotaped and dramatic music isn't playing everytime they have an interaction with another person. Sometimes I swear they are looking for a cameraman or something.

  60. just because someone does something different, doesn't make it wrong.

i had huge issues w the way my husband took care of our infant. so that was the biggest lesson i had to learn. to let go and let him be different than me.
