giveaway: persimmon & pink prints

today's giveaway is from sweet susan, creator of the popular persimmon & pink designs. her pieces are exquisitely printed, timeless sentiments. i remember eyeing them when i was cruising etsy one night. i wanted something special for benji's room. i told dan, come check this out. it was maybe the first and only time dan has matched me in impulse buying. lets get that one to frame, he said. done and done. couldn't be happier.

giving :: one 8x10 print and two 5x7 prints of your choice. winner can keep them all to enjoy or give one or two as gifts.

please comment today to enter to win.
tell me a favorite quote or song lyric.
you only have until tonight to enter.

congratulations to... johnson who commented, I would love one of these prints!! "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph W. Emerson. i simply loved reading your favorite quotes and am happy to say this may be the first male to win something on martawrites. woohoo, dan's not the only guy who reads.

a bit of a bio :: I started creating my designs because I wanted to have reminders and art around my home that uplifted and were gentle reminders of my faith. I couldn't find anything that was modern, fresh, and colorful that I would want to hang in my home so I decided to create some myself. I've been grateful and honestly a bit surprised by the success of these designs. It motivates me to create more artwork. I'm also a mom to two young children who I've trained to get shipping labels off the printer for me and who are regular charmers at the local post office.

thank you susan! please visit her blog + shop.

Something I read during quiet time this morning really jumped out at me, so I wrote it down. It's a quote by Henri Nouwen: "Live from God's breath. Recognize the breath of God in others."

So that is my new favorite quote/guiding thought. :)

  12. From the movie HOPE FLOATS, Birdee Pruitt: Childhood is what you spend the rest of your life trying to overcome. That's what momma always says. She says that beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will, too...

Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won't adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words "make" and "stay" become inappropriate.
