am a fan

am a fan of instagram. i didn't get it before. now i do. #callmeasocialmediaslowpoke. i plan on making an Artifact Uprising photo album. instagram is the perfect lazy-person scrapbook.

am a fan of string cheese. with apples. or alone and in my purse all day, a little smushed.

am a fan of spring rain. it's so refreshing and is making our lawn soo green.

am a fan of OPI gargantuan green grape. the perfect mint hue for nails.

am a fan of old navy v-neck tees. i live in them.

am a fan of fabulous envelopes. i love a grid design.

am a fan of these pretty necklaces. i hope to meet kersey this week at bijou market!!

am a fan of these maypole colorful felt balls and the darling girl behind them. yay, aubry. (i met her and some other very talented ladies at an intimate crafter mama meet n' greet the other night. thanks to michelle of twig for the invite! lets do it again soon!)

am a fan of the gallery wall. dan has given me the go-ahead to let me have-at-it in my kitchen. am hoping for something lovely like this little pinspiration.

am a fan of all the darling illustrations found in the little low studio shop. this adventurers print would be perfect for my family of little adventuresome men.

am a fan of hunkering down to fold laundry. am thinking i'll be ordering something from amazon prime to make it a night. any good movie suggestions?!!

am a fan of creative collaboration projects. i am so grateful for you awesome incredible people (mostly all women!!) that i get to work alongside with. seriously, i pinch myself. i love brainstorming big things together.

am a fan of this tea boy's plaid button down. if i could justify hanging another one in their closet, it would be mine.

am a fan of family bike rides.

p.s. my brother and i had a little discussion about blogs the other day. i wonder.. is blogging dead? are we on the way out, especially due to google reader going away for good!?! are you still out there? if so, say a little hello in the comments. perhaps it's just the device you read it on is too cumbersome to comment?! anyway, just a bitty experiment!

  2. i was trying bloglovin but decided the format wasn't for me. ali edwards had a blog post this week about this very subject...i'm trying "feedly" via her recomendations & love it so far. and you can import all your blogs easily w/ one click. man i'm going to miss google reader!

Still here! Loved Google Reader, love blogs. Will find another reader and keep on reading!

  4. I am definitely still here! I would be so sad if the blog is dead. My blog is merely asleep, but I start my day reading blogs! I hope you don't go anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm here and reading (although searching for an alternative to Reader like everyone else). It's awkward to comment on an iPhone. But I love your blog - it's one of the handful I kept when I whittled down my reading list.

    Yes, still reading and enjoying!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am a fan of your blog :) I have never left a comment though because I read everything in reader. I'm sad that's going away. Your blog is great!

  9. Helloooo! I dont fully understand the whole Google reader thing, but i will be so sad if i cant follow my favourite blogs anymore! X

  10. I hesitate to think that blogging is dead, especially since I had this exact same conversation with a good friend of mine over three years ago and here we are. I definitely think that the bar has been raised for anyone who wants to make money or be a real presence in the blog world, and we might not have quite as many people jumping on the monetized blog bandwagon, but we'll always have people documenting their memories and sharing their experiences with others.

Anyway, here I am! Obviously. :)

  11. I am still here and will always be, you are one of my favorites Marta. I've wondered the same thing, it seems like family and friends are blogging less and less, sad, because I still love it!

    ReplyDelete
  12. am a fan of your blog! (Not sure how to keep up once google reader goes, but I'll find a way!)

    ReplyDelete
  13. No worries, Marta. We're all still here with you! I think it'll be a sad day if the blogs ever die. I hope it doesn't come anytime soon!

  14. Been a fan for years. Still here. Still reading, just now in Feedly. Not going anywhere, so stick around, will ya?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Love that you're on Instagram. And I think blogs are here to stay. Hate commenting via iPad though. ;)

  16. still here. still blogging. still loving your blog.

  17. Hi! :) I never used Google Reader, either. :) I also am a fan of family bike rides and instagram.

Hello, I dont use google reader I follow you through my favourites list on my laptop :) Huge fan of your blog and have been for years but I've never commented :)

  20. I sure hope blogging isn't dead/dying, I enjoy it myself and I love reading other blogs. I don't use Google Reader either, just bookmark my faves and add them to my sidebars.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I really enjoy reading blogs but rarely comment. I am still using my google reader, I will hopefully find a replacement when it comes to an end.

    ReplyDelete
  22. coming out of the woodwork to say i'm here! but i'm not on instagram or twitter, so maybe i am waaaayy behind the times. i'll miss google reader, but am finding feedly as a good substitute.

I check in daily. Love your blog! I also bookmark my favorite blogs & don't go through GoogleReader. I don't do Instagram (yet), Facebook or Twitter. Just an old-fashioned gal...

  25. Still here. Didn't use Google reader. Thanks for your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Im a regular reader but not such a regular commenter (me bad) and will miss google reader but that wont deter me from reading my favourite blogs

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've been reading your blog for years (!) but seldom comment on any of the blogs I read. It's partly because I use google reader and would have to click over, etc. I'm really bummed about reader going away, but I will keep reading (and maybe try Feedly instead)!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm a longtime reader....and am still here.

I've also wondered lately if blogging is on the way out. I'll miss it if it is, but I also find myself blogging less and less often and am noticing others doing the same.

    ReplyDelete
  29. i think that certain aspects of blogging are going to change over the next few years. i know that i've seen myself blog much less (i mostly just blog for family) now that i am on instagram (which i love and am trying to convert all of my family and friends to). i think that pinterest has taken a lot of the blogging-about-products down a notch, and there are probably other social media sites that will continue to change how we think about blogging.

but. i love reading the writing on great blogs (such as yours), and i don't see that changing any time soon. so, i'll be sticking around.

    i'm using feedly now.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Have been here for a while and will be as long as you are. I love reading you. Blogs are not dead.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love reading your blog! I'm an infrequent commenter. Ok, like... never. But I so enjoy your recipes, insights on motherhood, great ideas and beautiful designs. Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Still here! And your blog is one of the only ones I truly enjoy. It's uplifting and so real and never makes me feel bad about my own life (as some other blogs are naturally prone to comparison).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Long live blogging! I've moved on to feedly pretty seamlessly. Yours has stayed on my list for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Renee4:21 PM

Of course we're till here!!! I read on Feedly anyway... so much better than Google Reader ever was!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Still here and loving your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  36. i am in love with your blog. i would miss my five faves if blogs went out of style.

    ReplyDelete
  37. still here! switched from google reader (RIP) to feedly. keep writing!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Still here even if I never comment much because I read mostly on my iPhone. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm still reading blogs and posting on mine. I am averaging a comment a month right now, and I blog several times a week. It's discouraging, but I blog for journaling purposes and print my blog into books at the end of the year. I try not to get discouraged by the lack of comments. My family reads my blog, but if anyone else does, I don't know. My family gets my blog update through email, and most don't know how to comment, so they don't. I have been commenting less, but I'm still reading. I wonder why people don't comment? Maybe they don't know how or it takes too much time? Your blog's design makes me happy, and your posts are always cute. I read your blog for inspiration. And it's fun that I know you too. :D

    ReplyDelete
  40. I probably should have clarified that my readers are friends and family. What probably disappoints the most is that you would think friends and family would want to comment, right? I just looked at my blog again after the post I left, and my cute sister went and posted on all my recent entries. She's an accountant and pretty busy right now. She and I are each other's blog commenters even if no one is out there. She's a keeper. :D

    ReplyDelete
  41. I had the same reaction when Google announced Reader was being retired (is blogging dead?!). And Instagram really is a good replacement for the "commenting" community, in many ways. As Pinterest is a great way to share favorites.

The pace of blogging has changed, but I still really love my blogs. I find inspiration and a little bit of human connection in doses that fit my life. So I hope love of the medium (blogging) wins out and content creators that I like (like you!) stick around. I think there's always room for good content.

    ReplyDelete
  42. gosh, I hope blogging isn't a dying art form. I love each and every one of the blogs I follow. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry when I heard Google Reader was on the way out (and p.s. - GIANT thank you for not truncating your posts). I just switched to Feedly on my computer & my phone and I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Still reading from google reader until they tear it from my cyber hands... :) I tried bloglovin' but just don't like it. I'm going to check out feedly! :) Either way I'll still be following!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm still here, but yes, annoyed that google reader is going away. In fact, it already seems to have go away from me a few months early.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Still here! Still reading! Still feeling inspired!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Still here! I use Google Reader every day and am at a loss for what to do when it's gone!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I haven't blogged in about a year but I still love reading them, including yours. You should try the new Feedly reader. You can transfer all your google stuff over to that. I like it even better than the old google reader. Much more options in how you would like to set it up and read it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Still here! Reading and blogging!

I was sad to hear that Google Reader is leaving, but think I'll be giving Feedly a try; I've heard good things!

    ReplyDelete
  49. although my blogging mojo has bit the dust, I sure appreciate others that are keepin' on!

Thanks for your thoughtful posts all these years. Loved watching you become a mama. You're a good one!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm still here and I still love your blog.

Yes, I do hate commenting on my phone and then I forget to go back and comment on the computer.

Instagram filled my blogging spot. My I miss my blog too.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hello hello hello! Still here after 4 years of reading your blog :)
I'm curious to know about some of your favourite clothing places that sell online (and to Canadians)

    ReplyDelete
  56. hey, hey! Love reading your posts, Marta. I personally think blogging is alive and well!

    ReplyDelete
  57. i am still here.
and i am still a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm still here, Marta! I agree with the commenters that some form of blogs are dead or dying, but I don't think it's time yet to declare all blogs are dead, and I hope you don't end yours any time soon!

I read blogs in Google Reader and click over to comment when I feel compelled. I have noticed a significant decline in commenting by myself and others on my own blog over the last year. That can make the writer feel no one's reading anymore, but as you see from the response here, we're all still reading ;)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yep, we are still here and reading. Feedlot, hmm..I'll look at that.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm another fan of your blog. Always enjoy reading what you have to say!

    ReplyDelete
  61. still here.

Me too! Still here :) I think you are a darling Marta! (...and what's Google reader? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Oh, I'm definitely still out there reading all my favorite blogs every day. I've been reading yours since before you had Benji and have no intention of stopping.

I haven't ever used google reader.

    Love ya Marta!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Dead? I really don't believe so. I never used Google Reader so no big deal here.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't read as many blogs as I used to, but I still check your blog regularly!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Jenna H-S9:57 AM

    Love your blog, Marta!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't think blogs are dead! I still read quite a few blogs and post on my own when I find the time.

I do most of my blog reading on my iPhone or iPad while I'm nursing my baby, and it feels so laborious to comment via a mobile device... so often I don't.

    ReplyDelete
  68. thank you Marta for your kind words! We're so grateful (and pretty darn excited to continue following your words on your blog - such a beautifully curated collection of awesome.) cheers!

  70. Oh, I'm still here! I have found less time for blogging lately as I play with IG and all the other things my phone can do - and as I live a wonderfully full life. I still like to visit around the web and see what the bloggers are up to. Please don't stop! And I'm glad you've joined the IG fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi Marta, sometimes I wonder the same thing but I've just since decided to get back out there after a really long hiatus. I had to check my intentions at the door before I walked on thru. And you must keep showing up because how else would we know how Marta and her family are doing and all the goings-on of your mind:) Remember, it's all about heart and a sense of community, both of which you provide here. Keep writing Marta...

    xx, Vanessa Rae

  81. Bloglovin rescued my blogs from Google Reader...just today! It exported all the blogs even though I could no longer read them.. So thankful.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Definitely still here! Call me old school, but I've always just typed in the blog I want to read (my browser fills in the url after like 2 letters anyway..). Plus, then I can prioritize my favorite blogs and get to the others when I have more time :)

  98. Love your writing! I never comment on most blogs I read... Largely in part because I read them on my phone in google reader and it isn't easy to do so. But I won't stop reading just because google reader stops. I plan on using a new reader.

  99. I started my blog www.thelittledecorator.blogspot.com last summer and intend to keep it up. Even if some say blogging is dead (this is the first I have heard about it!), blogging is for me, not readers. Writing lengthy posts to myself, making note of pictures I love, and practicing my photography are all blessings of blogging. Even if no one ever commented (they rarely do), I will keep it up until I find something much more important to do or Blogger kicks me off and shuts down my blog because blogs are "so old-fashioned"; fortunately, I don't believe they are yet, but that may just be me. Send me a comment on www.thelittledecorator.blogspot.com if you have any more thoughts on the subject.
