Only I DO scrapbook and have to try really hard not to let my angst take over the fun I have creating my books of memories for my family. I feel SAD when I have to leave out photos even though I know I can't scrap EVERYTHING! And I have my 3rd sweet little baby arriving in Sept. and have actually been desperately trying to finish 2007 (yes, I'm behind) before he/she arrives! I finally had to give myself a good talking to and just chill out:) I didn't scrapbook really until I had kids--they're so sweet and inspiring and say and do the funniest things. My 3 year old daughter, London, loves to look through the books and have me read to her what I wrote and I love that they'll have them someday to read through and be able to see and understand what I was thinking and how much I love them. But I do have to let my perfectionist side go a little, which is hard:)wabisabigirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15715552054192283432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36513923.post-65072723878091780762008-07-18T17:24:00.000-06:002008-07-18T17:24:00.000-06:00I KNEW i loved you for another reason BESIDES your...I KNEW i loved you for another reason BESIDES your love of watching the bachelorette! My scrapbooking skills consists of buying the albums with the sticky back, peeling back the plastic, slapping my photos down, and pulling the plastic back over them! I think that's why I started my blog. People save memories in word...I say do what you do.

People save memories in words, in quilts, in drawings, in gardens and in scrapbooks. It doesn't have to be a lifelong commitment. Who are we doing it for anyway? We'll be disappointed if we think our posterity is going to pour over our artistic creations for hours every time they visit. (How often do you read your mom's poetry?) Once we accept that we're creating something for our own enjoyment we're free to do what we do, when we feel like it!Travelin'Omahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18415472674768977723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36513923.post-53224590585005107762008-07-15T21:55:00.000-06:002008-07-15T21:55:00.000-06:00You're so fun. I scrapbooked for a bit in 2000 and then dropped it like a rock for almost 7 years, only to start again b/c my daughter was crestfallen that there were no pics of her in our 1 album (she was 4 by then). So I picked it back up for the kids and, honestly, to meet some people. I'm liking it for now. It feels good after designing for years with other people in mind just to make something for me.

But as fickle as I am, I guarantee that in a few years I'll move on to something else and use your current style :)Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08887076328156354502noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36513923.post-49917951565985763852008-07-15T18:52:00.000-06:002008-07-15T18:52:00.000-06:00that's my kind of "scrapbook." :) now i just nee...that's my kind of "scrapbook." :) now i just need to actually print out my pictures and put them in a book, because i have yet to do even that.whitneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07740190416691718489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36513923.post-25423905022773034252008-07-15T17:32:00.000-06:002008-07-15T17:32:00.000-06:00This sounds very much like a decision I recently m...This sounds very much like a decision I recently made myself - whilst never a full on scrapbooker, I did like to make beautiful photo albums. But as you say life suddenly took over - single mum to little Ellie aged one means no time for such things. I decided to just stick all the photos I had accumulated of Ellie's first year into an old diary that I hadnt used - didnt worry too much about chronology either - how times have changed but some things are just more important than a pretty scrapbook I suppose.
