party dress

if i were still in high school and going to prom next month, i would wear this or maybe this... and then of course i'd have to find a sweater for the night's chill.

not that i'm wishing i were back in high school.. the new collection just reminded me..

last year in the springtime my adorable niece came to california for a visit. we shopped like two li'l ladies on a mission. searching for a suitable senior prom dress. now this girl is no miss priss. she is down to earth, so cute, athletic and super smart - so we had to find a match with no sparkles/sequins/fluff. it was my dream come true as an auntie to take her to all my favorite shops in so. cal.

when her stay was coming to a close, and no dress had been found.. dan drove us to LA for a serious search & rescue. we ate Italian for lunch and hopped next door to the ginormously gorgeous anthro. she ended up discovering a real beauty at the anthropologie on santa monica blvd [what i meant was Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica - thanks to Dan, he keeps me headed in the right direction, as you can tell by his on the ball comments. props to the guy who reads about party dresses on his wife's silly li'l blog.. boy, i love him.] she was stunning and wowed even the sales girl. {i had a ball remembering high school (being so happy to be out of it) yet all the momentous occasions in those crazy three years.} mmm, with anthropologie, you can really never go wrong.

moving on, this belongs in my mom's kitchen.

What belongs in your mom's kitchen? Are you giving her a present?

I figured it out! It actually would look great as a tablecloth, don't you think?

Kakakacrazy! I was just looking online last night at party dresses too! For absolutely no reason. I peruse them quite freuquently...one should always have options...just in case!

Technically, Marta, the store was located in Santa Monica, but not on Santa Monica blvd. It was located on Third Street Promenade. I know, I'm a stickler for details.
