ikean't wait

if i were a dolly with a big silver winding key in my back, i would admit that the moment i saw the bright blue & yellow IKEA bus ads with catchy phrases, i started winding up. i am jittery with enthusiasm, i can hardly contain myself. someone is going to have to hold me back before i teeter and totter and run myself in circles around that place.

{inevitably i will slowly come to a halt and stiff leggedly fall to the ground, but hopefully it will be after i've enjoyed my nonfat frozen yogurt cone and loaded the newly acquired goods into my trunk.}

yes, in case you've been living under a rock,
the bold, the beautiful, the blue IKEA opens in utah:
May 23rd • 9:00 am • 67 West IKEA Way • Draper, Utah

{please contact me if you are nutty enough to enter those doors on opening day. i'd love to either a.) be talked into going with you or b.) live vicariously and hear all the grand opening scenarios.} this NYC promotion from last year is pretty fabulous. click a photo. feelin' mundane? maintain sanity with this.

i totally understand! we live in philly where there are two - TWO - ikeas. more of our out-of-town guests want to go there than to the liberty bell.

not that i blame them. it is impossible to leave there with less than a trunk full and something strapped to the roof of your car.

Yes, IKEA does somehow make life a bit better. I'm glad they know their place.

I'm really excited about this, but I really hate crowds more. I am waiting until June something for my first visit.

I'm with girlymama! I live in Jersey, just outside of Philly and I don't think I could survive without them. Mmm, swedish meatballs. I was there two Saturdays ago and I got a big breakfast plate (eggs, bacon, and potatoes) for a dollar! A dollar!!!

I hope your opening is more civilised than the one here in London early 2005

I actually was nutty enough to go to the opening day of the Boston IKEA. It was madness, but it was oh, so fun. Wherever we move, I always tell J that there HAS to be an IKEA. I will give up other things, but not my IKEA fix.

Ok, I've been dying for the new Ikea to open. My husband laughs at me because I tell him it's because of me they came to Utah. I emailed them years ago about coming to Utah.. so you can all thank me. ... he he :)
Anyhow, I'm super excited because I'm going to break in this Saturday for Friends and Family day!! Yay! My sisters best friend works there... I'm SOOOO excited!

I can hardly wait for IKEA!! I've never been to one with a car! Everything I've ever bought there has had to fit into my suitcase for the trip home. I can't stand crowds though, so I have to wait a while. If anyone wants to buy me some blue and white napkins I'd be forever thankful! One package will last until I stock up myself.

I also am IKEAddicted...but the latest development at my store is that is all SELF CHECK OUT...and you have to pay .05 per plastic bag! DUH...this is a horrible thing to do to a mother whose twins are not tall enough to visit the IKEA nursery. Still...the black and white toile pillows are delicious. Enjoy!!!
