amazing ava

after discovering this gorgeous blog {thanks to andrea} i have begun to think differently about the simplicity of blogging. this post is everything a blog can be. i have emailed it to my friends and now all the girls at work and i are bawling because of her deep descriptions. usually i think re-posting about a subject is unnecessary, but i think this woman's insight is incredible and i believe we can learn something from her journey. her photos are stunningly sweet & allow a leap into her life and a look with new eyes.

i urge you to read her lovely words describing her tragic loss and how it feels to have your heart broken. it is not easy to read, though i have decided it important to open up and take it in. reading someone's blog is a lot like entering a new realm and like my mom says, seeing from the inside out. sheye writes candidly, openly, honestly about her struggle in having a normal life. her strength throughout her mourning process is truly evident and beautiful. if nothing else, what a wonderful way to capture these moments so close to the day her daughter died. reading the story of their family makes me want to cherish each day, each moment i have. to remember what is truly important, to forget about the silly things and hold on tight to the genuine truths of life.

although sheye lives so far away in australia, a place i've only dreamt of visiting, i feel close to her and want to put my arms around her. we are all so similar. her words remind me that all of us are brothers and sisters.

though are branches are spread, in the roots we are connected.

You don't know me, but I love your blog, and I just wanted to say, THANK YOU for sharing this beautiful and emotional blog, I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose a child. Her blog is amazing, she is amazing, and like you said, I wish I could just reach out into cyberspace and wrap my arms around her!

marta, that was lovely. as coincidence would have it, i posted today about a similar blog and i was convinced as i began reading yours that we were talking about the same one. amazing how we can feel such intense feelings of sympathy with and admire so deeply people we haven't even met.

good luck tomorrow on the bike ride.

wow, that was a really bad idea to read about ava while I am here at work ...

what a heart-breaking blog, but sheye writes beautifully and from her heart. Its heart-breakingly beautiful. and ava looks just like a little angel, those are beautiful pictures too.

stories like this make me really think about the important things in my life -- the people :)

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Made me tuck my kids into bed tonight so much more lovingly. When I lost my mother I think I gained a small insight into what that kind of grief would feel like. To lose a child must feel a lot like losing a limb. THere isn't anything you can do in life without seeing and noticing that something is missing, something is not right.
