no. 12

this beautiful architecture is a favorite spot for Bridals among local photographers. fortunately i get to walk past these buildings every day, taking my mail to the postbox, clapping for the summertime outdoor bands, and walking to our lunchbunch destination of a nearby cafe.

these real green boughs make my heart burst. if i were living in the twenties i would put on a glitzy skirt, cherry red lipstick and attend some smashing dance inside those doors. after a church party last weekend, wherein dan and i were {somewhat obligated} to dance, dance and dance to the tunes of a live band, i've decided the days of dancing era must come back. i mean it could be the answer to a lot of today's problems: obesity, divorce, violence, etc. that night, i watched so many just sitting and staring in their seats, deciding against getting up and frolicking upon the dance floor. reminding me once again, in the dance of life, wallflowers have no fun. am glad that for me at least, dance is not yet dead. am delighted to have so many good memories dancing with friends under disco lights, twinkle lights and moonlight.

Lovely picture, Marta! I agree with the dancing...I watched Grey's Anatomy on my DVR last night and it made me want to have a tequila and dance party!

So I second that motion!

LOVE your blog! Happy Holidays!

I'd be right next to you wearing my high wasted a-line skirt, patterned stockings and round toe pumps.

What happened to the days when people went to dance, enjoy food and friends rather than become intoxicated with alcohol?

Hi marta...
I've been loving your Christmas countdown!
I'm also curious about the font you use on the photos...could you let me know the name of it?
Thanks! Nicole

I would love to dance like they did in the 30's and 40's, swinging around the guy's shoulders, and spinning around on the floor. Alas...I've never done it, and never will.
