you are my sunshines.

you made my day.
thank you for the you make my day awards. hip. hip.
meg, i've never been called a spoon full of sugar, but that statement delights me. and i can now die happy. sarah, merci for mentioning that i get things done. if you saw my laundry basket, you may take that back. but it means a lot coming from you, gal. a thousand thanks to whitney (a darling pregnant blogger) and jess (a lovely crafting party planner) for the shout outs.

seriously though. you all make me happy. i have been thinking about this award and decided (although so frivolous) it's hard to pinpoint the very blogs that make me happy. there are too many to pick from. my bloglines is screaming for a makeover; i have subscribed to way too many. but that is beside the point. i love them (meaning your blogs). they are free, cheaper than magazine subscriptions and more instantaneously gratifying. and way more interactive. party ideas; check. wedding photographers; check. beautiful craft ideas; check. method to keep in touch with family; check. darling details; check. home and nursery decor; check. makeup and fashion trends; check. best books to read; check. great music and movies; check. poignant life lessons; check. glamor, glitz; check. simple and serene; check. intelligent and brainy; check. blonde and ditzy; check. deep thoughts; check. hilarious quips; check. the latest and greatest; check. the hippest and happenin; check. it is all here in the blogosphere; ripe for the picking. words on the wire. i love you people. there are way more pros than cons to this blogging biz. i know you agree.

and to those of you who comment on my blog; i say merci. because we are friends and i feel like i know you. and some days i wonder who in the world is reading that i don't know about. because i want to know you too. step into the sunlight, my dears. i say thanks for making my days. i'll play along and narrow it to five honorable mentions to those who make me laugh, love, smile and think. hope you will too.

these ladies i love because it shows through their writings that they have found themselves and revel in the simple state of the being of themselves. this is an enviable quality. to firmly know who oneself is is to understand your whole truth.

nectar and light. she astounds. delights. amazes. her photographs alone speak volumes. i love this woman and think her style is simple and fabulous. i want to walk into her kitchen, sit her darling daughter on my lap and have biscuits and jam together while looking over her cookbook collection. she somehow combines the ordinary with grace in a perfect ballet that renews itself again and again.

orangeBeautiful. these girls scoop up loveliness consistently. fashion, letterpress, design, cute haircuts... everything you'd want from long lost sisters you know exist but never met. they bring in a fresh outlook and make me drool over everything they produce.

the paper pony. raya is a newbie to me. but am already hooked; reading and watching as she has gracefully entered motherhood (congrats!). she is full of light, beauty, brilliant ideas and darling home friendly crafts. inspires me daily with the way she creates her life.

celia fae. she makes everyone laugh. she has found the secret to life and seems to embrace who she genuinely is. she just shines. and isn't afraid to say what we are all too bashful to actually say. she is a mother and a miss know it all and the type of best friend everyone wants. i want to sit next to celia fae at the cafeteria table because that table would be the one hollering with laughter. you may think hers a typical mommy blog. it's not. she somehow wraps her whole life up with a grin. this is a particularly fantastic post.

wilksten-made. she is pretty and classic and one of a kind and genius. she sews and fashions things to life with her own two hands. i love her sly sense of humor and adore the fact that she works hard to do what she loves. to create things from scratch. a very good quality.

i yearn to go on. and on.
so i will; another day.
linky love is so much fun.
thanks for making my day(s).
you are my sunshine(s).
i mean it.

in this photo lovely lori poses at last spring's balloon photoshoot hosted by ali. i hope we can get in another last big balloon hurrah before we both move!

first comment? I must have some how got your vibe from the photo because....although yours is one of my very favorite blogs to see, I don't visit on a daily basis...so I was surprised to see my smile at the top.
hope the balloon photo shoot happens again, I will be sad to not be there.

As always, beautiful in word and pictures.

Did your mother sit down with you and Gabi and having "good writing" lessons, or what?

Are you kidding me? You like me, really? The guru of all things beautiful thinks I am good?

I am humbled and honored. And speechless, apparently. Thanks.

Hello. I have been a lurker on your blog for some time now. I can't quite remember how I found you. I think through a friend of a friend's friend or something to that effect. Yours is the only blog I read of someone I do not personally know. But I keep coming back. I looked today because I've been feeling a bit down and overwhelmed with life. Searching for a pick me up, I thought: "m.writes" that's just what I need today. I love the soothing colors, the happy thoughts, and the simple joys you so poignantly put into words and pictures. I decided to introduce myself today as you mentioned that you would like some of us to step out into the light. More than anything, I just want to say "thank you" for being who you are, and for being willing to share it with the rest of us. You really do make a difference. "By small and simple things, shall great things come to pass."

Just back from vacation and your little spot is one of my first stops. I love your blog! When I explain blogs to non-bloggers I say...it's like endless new magazines everyday but better and free! Thanks for all the tips on great blogs many of these are favorite stopping points for myself. What a wonderful little web we are all creating together. Thanks you for your contributions!
