sistas night out

there have been a plethora of perfect parties as of late. i can't get over how much fun this trip home has been, not to mention all the cute ideas i've gathered for my party inspiration binder. i'll try to touch on all of them so you too can gather an idea or two from these creative hostesses.

leave it to my sister, heidi to transform a typical girl's night out into a lavish dessert party 'neath the evening backyard breezy trees. she baked up a cheesecake (even better than cheesecake factory's and no line to wait in!), served it with fresh fruits and hot fudge drizzles. along with pretty glasses filled with freshly squeezed raspberry & mint lemonade. we played scrabble into the night and chatted long after that on her patio. when i play hostess, i tend to make parties way too difficult and attempt to do too much. i love that heidi put her efforts into an exquisite homemade dessert and a darling table setting. the party was really about getting together and enjoying each other's company. it was completely summery, simple, sophisticated and scrumptious.

I usually make my parties harder than they have to be too. I love how simple your sisters night was. I need to remember to keep things simple.

I love the feel of this party! Sounds perfect for a girls night in. Too bad I have a luncheon planned for today and we can't just have dessert!

Your blog is so cute. Glad I found it. I'm a big fan of the typing all lowercase letters myself. Kind of random thing to notice, but my grandma always gets on to me about it. I think they're designed better.

I LOVE your inspiration binders. I save all the stuff but don't have it organised. You have inspired me. It's totally ok that you aren't a scrapbooker. You are so off the hook because of your genius, organised inspiration collection.
I can't think of a better evening than being with your sisters and with cheesecake - homemade to boot, lemonade and scrabble. Oh dear that's a small slice of heaven.
I always wanted a sister. Would your mum be willing to adopt and add just *one* more to the brood? :)
