there are no words

this song started playing on my ipod one sunny afternoon shortly after benji was born. the sun warmed my shoulders and i listened to the lyrics while jotting in my journal. i had always thought it a cute love song between sweethearts.

suddenly my life was brand new and everything meant something more. the words are perfect for how i feel about my new little one. that was such a big moment wrapped up in a sweet quiet simple moment. just a perfect sunny afternoon writing in my journal days after my first born was born. listening and loving.

a new love introduced to my heart.
a new life in my life.
the best thing in the world.

Before I had kids, a mom friend of mine told me that all the love songs would sound like songs about your child once you became a mom. I completely agree. Thanks for sharing!

Everything seems to take on new meaning when seen through the eyes of a new mother.

This is so nice! This was my wedding song/first dance. The original was sung by Keith Whitley in the 80s and the song was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. I'd never thought of it as other than a "love song" between sweethearts either until now! :)

i think you are positively enchanting.. and we haven't even met.

by the way, I was a pilot .7 girl myself, but the .5 changed my life - kid you not.

He is a doll.

When I was pregnant with my son (who is now 4), the Wallflowers' song "Closer to You" would turn me into a teary puddle. And now my boy calls it "our song."

I LOVE that song!
I haven't ever thought of it other than a typical love song, but it fits perfectly to explain the love of a child.
