just checking in
we're back. spring break is officially over. not only because i'm not having breakfast in my mom's cute kitchen, but because i woke up to idaho snow today. yes, i'm serious. after wearing flipflops in that warm utah sunshine, i'm shocked and appalled. am counting on it melting by noon. this li'l boy needs a stroll in the sunshine.
we had a wild good time last week. thanks to all of you who came around to say hello. i'll be posting photos as they upload. we came home with stuffed bags, full hearts, happy faces and two first teeth for benji.
now to unpacking and laundry and catching up on google reader and going grocery shopping and figuring out some new writing assignments and organizing a pile of pretty paper and bouncing my boy on the bed and planning a picnic. this week i'm spring cleaning and getting serious about spring training. the 5k is next month! i've signed up, sisters. hope you're still with me. and for the still hesitant, i promise crossing the finish line at any athletic event is a rush and so is hearing your fans cheering and so is receiving the plastic medal they hang around your neck and so is the big bad brunch you enjoy afterwards. because you've earned every one of those syrupy goodness calories. mmm.

I love a vacation, but I love coming home more. Welcome home. :)
Don't feel too bad. We woke up to snow in Utah, too!
After a few weeks of mild 40-50 degree weather in NY, we woke up to a bitter 22 degrees this morning. I hope spring gets back on track soon!
as a fellow transplant to idaho, i feel your pain. you'll get used to it! last year it snowed in june! by the way, that picture of your baby is so precious.
You totally inspired me to come back to Utah a week sooner than planned to run the 5k... I did track in high school and have been dying to run in a real race ever since, but never managed to get around to it. So thanks! :)
Oh my, he is SO cute that little guy of yours. My Bleu is almost 11 months and still no teeth, so congrats! Spring is slow coming here in NY, too. It was 24 degrees out this morning when I brought my son to preschool.
have fun at the race! races are seriously the best: those and the fact that i like to eat 10,000 calories a day are the only things that keep me running.
it was lovely here Friday and Saturday--short sleeves and bike rides (well, for people that didn't just have babies). And I'm so aiming for a 5k in a few months.
Two teeth? Is he gnawing on a carrot stick yet?
