america the beautiful

we've been tuning into pbs all week long for the excellent series by ken burns on national parks. i especially enjoyed the episode about dan's hero, president theodore roosevelt venturing into the woods with john muir. talk about mountain man rendezvous. i am taken with the narration, beautiful vintage photographs, scenic panoramas and expert historians telling the tales in a way that leaves you wanting more.

i am, of course, bias toward historians.

Oh, I love a series like this. Paul and I often tune in to specials on animals. They are so peaceful.

How do you do it? Up late and up early? Unless you scheduled posts...? (I read your previous two posts last night because, I too, was up late. With my teething two-year-old. And that's why I'm up now. Stupid molars.)

I waited all summer for this series and have not been disappointed! Visiting all of the National Parks is on my "bucket list" but I never realized there were so many.

We've been watching right along with you. And ditto Dan's reverence for Roosevelt and Muir, and while we're at it, let's throw in Ken Burns. :)
