someone's in the kitchen with marta

you're well aware of my current kitchen staff situation.

yes, he's adorable. however his current specialty is creating jackson pollocks with macaroni. this coming holiday, my little man will be banging his wooden spoon on pots scattered all over the floor. always providing the comic relief and the soundtrack to our lives. am delighted since my real assistant at the stove will be dan. he is the cook of the household. and has a real good sense about spices and such. thank goodness for a generation of men who can cook. oh man this guy can stir fry like nobody's business.

still... i've invited someone else to come to my rescue for thanksgiving.
this little lady is finally here and i'm giving her free reign in my kitchen!

my rave review of ree. once this book arrived at my door i saved it until benji's naptime and read it cover to cover. by page ten, i was all choked up. this is the type of cookbook you'll want to read. even the acknowledgement page and all. because you're reading ree's words. and we love ree. it's a big bite of her amazing website; covered and bound and ready for a spot upon your sacred cookbook shelf. she has included a large helping of favorite recipes from her ranch, printed in classic pioneer woman (step-by-step) form. awesome. plus her photography and stories are sprinkled between the pages, which i find fun and refreshing. just like the woman herself. am happy i didn't wait until christmas for this one. she is going to be my pardner throughout my holiday home cookin' adventures.

if you're a fan of ree, and you really should be,
you'll undoubtedly love her cookbook.

yay! i am so glad to hear it! can't wait to see if you find a new holiday favorite from ree.

your kitchen looks and sounds to be loads of fun miss marta. i'm a bit jealous over here in no fridge or stove land, but staying busy making mental lists of all the christmas goodies that will ensue soon enough.

ps. what darling red plates you have! totally adorable. totally you.

Mine arrived in the mail a week ago and it's still eye candy to me! I have sat and literally ate up her words, she's just too fun. This is a book I am soooo excited to hand out as gifts this year! And her food? DEVINE!!! My off-the-diet indulgence.

I've been desperately hinting at my husband for this cookbook. I adore Ree, in fact I'd go as far as to say her website taught me to cook when I first got married. I also love readable cookbooks with beautiful pictures (ha, I don't ask for much).

I'm seriously hoping this will be in my christmas stocking! Along with Pictorial Websters *swoon*

What a sweet little chef, so adorably cute!
Gotta check out this book, I love cooking. Another one of my hobbies.
Thanks for the heads up about the fabric. I never win anything and this is ideal considering I am just starting out quilting and sewing, I see a quilt for my nephew's birthday coming on. The fabric is just perfect or it, thanks again.
