I would love this for my little girl that is set to be born any day now!

My most memorable gift is a tie: the Barbie dream house was fantastic (my two sisters and I eventually had a whole Barbie village), but so was my first two-wheeler. Man childhood is fun:)

wow. What an adorable giveaway.

My favorite gift as a child had to be a pet iguana. My parents hid the aquarium behind the tree and we had to guess...very fun. But my little brother thought it had too "dry" skin, and slathered it with lotion. Unfortunately, it turned black, shriveled up and died soon after.

And that is only mild when it comes to our childhood pet stories. I'm sure we all have 'em.

that would make a great replacement for the wooden letter "o" that our boy thinks is a teether!
i still remember opening my "my little pony" stable from santa. my ponies were stylin' that year :)

Hands down, my favorite Christmas gift was the Crayola Caddy I got when I was 6. Oh, how I loved those rows of markers, paints and crayons!

My teething daughter would love to sink her gums in this!!

My favorite Christmas toy is... well.. I'll confess-- a gameboy. We never had a full on Nintendo, but the year we got a Gameboy I felt "legit." I played Mario Brothers for hours and hours.

the handmade barbie house my parents constructed...complete with real carpet, curtains, and linoleum kitchen floors.

So cute! Most memorable gift... hmmm... it would have to be my very first walkman. My parents would let me borrow their cassette tapes, and my favorite happened to be The Body Guard soundtrack. I would go around the house belting out Whitney Houston like there was no tomorrow.

My first Cabbage Patch doll. Me and my four sisters each got one {nevermind that my oldest sister was a teenager}. We have a polaroid of us all sitting on the couch, from oldest to youngest {me}, holding our dolls.

wow- my daughter would be so happy :) i remember so many little random gifts as a kid... for some reason the one that just keeps coming to me lately (probably cause i'm stressing about stockings for my family!) but is when i got leggings when i was little. i was so excited to have my own pair of the stirrup leggins and felt so grown up wearing them :)

santa brought my sister and i porcelain dolls for 3 years in a row. we adored them! i still remember how delicate and beautiful i thought they were. i received my first one when i was 5 and was so gentle and careful with it.

hands down it was the year santa brought me a cabbage patch doll! I still remember sitting under the tree and staring at the wrapped box...hoping and wishing and finally screaming in delight.

Love the teether! My baby cousin (ok she's 26) had her first baby yesterday! Can't wait to meet the little guy!

Must be a dark skin baby toy - and it's in use almost 30 years after I got it! I don't play with it anymore, but my own children do :)

Lena said...

I love these teethers...so much.

My favorite gift was a long satiny teal nightgown with a pleated and a lacey collar - like Elizabethan, not adult - that was also super warm because it was lined with some fleecey type stuff. It sounds weird here, but man I loved it and still smile thinking about it.

yes! miles needs this wooden teether! not that he has any teeth right now, or is even getting any teeth, but he will someday soon. so yes, this would be nice.

my most memorable gift as a child was when we all got rollerblades from my grandparents. we rollerbladed around their carpeted basement all night. then I could be found rollerblading around the bar in our kitchen when it was too cold or snowy/icy to go outside. loved those things.

jess said...

oooh... would love this for my little teether.. currently working on 3 at once!
honestly, i don't really remember the gifts as a kid. i remember the food, the family, the lights, the music, the coziness. this helps me to realize that my kids don't really care what's under the tree, but the feelings in our home. thank goodness!

Kerry said...

A wooden teether would be great for my May baby.

Most memorable Christmas gift... that would be when my sister and I asked for a puppy and we got... a microwave oven. Seriously.

my most memorable gift..
i think new doc marten boots... but i wasn't exactly a kid then. that's back when they were super cool!

I know my little one would love that for Christmas! Thanks for sharing. My most memorable gift was when my parents surprised us on Christmas Eve with a trip to go surprise my grandparents for Christmas morning...they lived two states away in Idaho. It was a great 16 hours in the motor home with a gigantic surprise for them at the end.

a record player (yes, that dates this 37 year old) ;)

My most memorable Christmas gift as a child was a racetrack. (I was a bit of a tomboy!) I remember waking up Christmas morning and sneaking downstairs to see the racetrack all set up in front of the tree and ready to be played with!

i'm always looking for good teethers. my daughter has a neurodevelopmental disorder and, at almost three years old, still eats everything. she probably will for years. she just needs that feeling of biting, you know? these are darling!

The gift that springs to mind is the one and only gift I ever sneaked to see... I very stealthily opened one end of the wrapping paper to reveal a pair of pink pajamas. I was so distraught over my dishonesty that when we got to choose a gift to open on Christmas Eve, I chose that one.

oh, my most memorable gift is the nativity my mom gave me...it's a fabric nativity we used as children. one we could touch and explore and experience...not break! she gave it to me for my little girl to play with. :)

I was never much of a doll girl but one particular I really wanted one. I knew that my parents couldn't afford it so I asked Santa for it. I ended up getting it. Santa brought it to my grandparents house where we also opened presents. I knew Santa was real then!

i would love to have this for my little one, coming june 5th.

one of my most memorable christmas gifts was a pogo stick i got when i was ten or eleven. i loved that thing, and i felt cool even then for asking for something pretty classic.

When I was about 3 or 4, my parents got my two older sisters and me a Barbie doll house. The pictures that my dad snapped when our faces lit up with joy at the surprise are priceless. We LOVED it and played with it for years.

i love this teething ring! perfect with a little one on the way.

my favorite gift as a child was a quilt that my mother made me. she had been working on it for quite some time and i had been coveting it for equally long. i had hinted that she should give it to me for christmas, but she just shrugged it off. on christmas eve, i snuck into her closet, where i knew she had hung the quilt top (which she had completed), and it was still there- no batting, no backing, incomplete. i was heartbroken, thinking that there was pretty much no way i would be getting this quilt for christmas. the next morning though, when i opened my last gift, there was the quilt, completed. i said, "you must have been up all night working on this!" it turns out that she had a friend that was making the same quilt and had borrowed her quilt top to trick me. serves me right for peeking!

how's that for a long story?

My memorable gift was a robe my husband gave me. I wear it every single day. it is looking a bit tattered!

I still remember getting a necklace holder and thinking it was a clothes rack for my barbie clothes. Mother had to subtly explain it so as not to give away the secret of the Big Man...

Eva said...

I remember getting a teddy bear for the teddy bear parade at school.

Love that teether!

My most memorable Christmas gift as a child was a beautiful doll house my father made for me. It was my dream house, it even had a front porch. My grandmother had found all sorts of small furniture- even a bathtub with feet!- that fit inside. I wish I still had that little house!
