begin again.
i received cute photos in my inbox last night (thank you, abby) from new year's day when we had a playdate with my nieces and enjoyed crockpot applesauce. i was reminded of their curly hair and their cute lively chatter. how good life is. how lucky i am to have family. and parents to chat with on the phone and a baby to waddle around un-doing. and a man who plays music in the mornings and irons his own shirts. how good it is that we're healthy and happy and employed and able to buy groceries. that we have made real nice friends. and can play wooden trains as a family. we can drive in a warm car and sleep in a warm bed. and make cookie dough on a whim. the list goes on. i made up a little inspiration board of recent things that make me happy. it kicked my slump out the window.
daily quotes from real simple. our growing bookshelf, all the books i want to read. bumble & bumble products. am completely hooked. pushing daisies. i love solving mysteries with chuck and ned. their love story makes me completely happy. creating a boatload of logos + bicycle stationery. happening upon vintage triangle bookplates that once belonged to my dad. robin egg blue and bright orange hues.
it's a new day. and i have hearts hanging. one month and one day.
thank you for being so awesome. may it continue.
goodbye slump. am powering through without you.

I love the daily quote from Real Simple. It's always there waiting to give me fresh perspective on life. Most often, it's something I need to hear and/or remember. Thanks to you for getting me hooked and signed up to receive it!
You are the cutest thing on the planet! Your posts seriously make. my. day.
oooh-i'm looking forward to seeing the bicycle stationary! perhaps inspired by a recent shower invitation design, or maybe it was already in the works and you had just the cute little bicycle in mind when i contacted you. :) either way, glad to see your spread of inspiration and happiness at the top of the page. we are, truly blessed. am glad we all stop every once in a bit to take time to realize just how much magic fills our days. happy wednesday!
Pushing Daisies is one of my all-time favorite shows! I was very upset with ABC for how abruptly they ended the second season. I'm hoping it will eventually come out on DVD, with the final episodes they didn't air... It's nice to hear there are other avid fans!
Glad to hear you're doing better. I think everyone was feeling slumpy the past few days. Maybe the planetary alignment? Who knows.
It's a wonderful inspiration board....and so funny, because I also posted about the little things that are inspiring me and making me feel happy today after a few blah days myself!
xo
I hate when I get in a slump - but then the best feeling is when you come out on the other side. I feel renewed and energized and very thankful.
Glad to see you are feeling better!
Those nieces of ours are so cute! Mom and Dad seriously do not have one single ugly grandchild.
cute fam. cute hair. cute show. cute bottles. cute collage. love this, m.
more power to you.
ps. i need to try some bumble and bumble at some point in my life. do you have a favorite 'volumizing' item?
total stranger here...
as if i didn't already know this, now i KNOW that we'd be real life friends.
bumble&bumble?
pushing daisies?
empire records?
i mean, hello!
I recently found your blog- through a path that I no longer remember- but wish I did because my son goes to preschool with Heidi's daughter (your neice who is not in the picture). What a small world......
Just a note to say how much I like your blog. I am a reader from Australia and enjoy reading your perspectives. Your writing about your son and family just about brings tears to my eyes :)
I'm glad you're feeling better - those slumps can really get us down!
I love Bumble & Bumble too!
a cute post full of so many things to be happy about...reading your words always makes my heart soar!
xo.
did you get through all of the pushing daisies episodes?? what'd you think??
love the comment about a man that does his own ironing. ha ha. mine is a navy boy...he does his and my ironing! :) those military kids no how to get those creases just right! ha ha.
A few posts back you mentioned your love for electric blankets. If you haven't yet, you'll love to read Click, Clack, Moo - Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin with Benji. This book has been part of my kids library for a while and as they grow older I can see them grasping different concepts from it. It's an entertaining book for kids and adults.
I am right there with ya....goodbye slump!!
