be brave. just do it.

i have loved catching up on all of your blogs from over the week. it's quite simple with bloglines.. it's like my little postbox of blogposts are spilling over just waiting for me to read them.

this post brought a lot out of me. thanks, miss anna. my whole life i have wanted to be an athlete. you and my husband are the ones who bring it out of me. this is the year. (it's gotta be.. i've already signed up for two events.. eek.) gotta find that belief in myself from down in.. i am believing in myself mostly because you guys say i can do it. the regimen starts now, thanks for the blog training diaries. i really love reading them and imagining the Kenyan Within you fighting it's way out. seems like you and her are well acquainted, soul sisters perhaps.

these quotes make me think of you and all my other brave-hearted friends.

"It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves." - Edmund Hillary

"Few men during their lifetime come anywhere near exhausting the resources dwelling within them. There are deep wells of strength that are never used." - Richard E. Byrd

"Living fearlessly is not the same thing as never being afraid. It's good to be afraid occasionally. Fear is a great teacher." - Michael Ignatieff

"Difficulties are just things to overcome, after all." - Ernest Shackleton

"The turning point in the process of growing up is when you discover the core strength within you..." - Max Lerner

"You have to trust your inner knowing. If you have a clear mind... you won't have to search for direction. Direction will come to you." - Phil Jackson

quotes from the other thing in my postbox, the April Oprah Magazine.

speaking of bravery, this blog entry almost made me weep. my sister, gabi has been through so much in her life, and still remains the most cheerful, fun woman i know. she has been my hero ever since i wrote a report on her in the fifth grade. we even sang that cheesy bette midler Beaches song during a 'Hero Assembly'. which isn't to say that i am not still in love with The Wind Beneath My Wings ballad solo on Beaches. yes, i own that movie and yes, i cry every time. (and yes, if you haven't seen it, you can borrow it.)

You say it all so well! You express your heart, and it's such a sweet heart.

For reals! Your post title says it all. Anna is not joking around, she means business...and I dig that! This is just the reminder I needed. I've been slacking recently in my workout routine. Now, I'm getting back in the saddle. Plus, I love tennis and that ad is so cool.

I'm so happy to have you back on the blogging scene and full of inspiration. Happy you had a nice break with Dan and the ocean.

I couldn't figure out how to leave a comment on the "up up and away" post but I wanted to say you're welcome, and tell you thank you so very much for coming when I'm sure you were a bit tired from a drive across the west desert. We need to get together again so we can catch up more.
