sweet silhouette

dynamic duo, maeve and brad have begun a business recreating your kids in sweet profile 2D form. (this does-it-all-couple is fabulously talented in all sorts of areas, so i wasn't surprised when they introduced these pretty babies.) aren't they just beautiful? i love the girl/boy colors, the personalized names tucked underneath and the simplicity of the artwork altogether. a perfect thing to hang in your child's room or create a series of them, lined up in the hallway leading to the master bedroom. so when you tuck them in and say goodnight, your heart will melt every time you pass them by. i mean, i'm not a mom yet, but is there anything you love more than your own darling's profile!?

details from their (incredible) blog: They are custom silhouettes on a 16×20 canvas. All you need to do is take a picture of someone’s profile, email it to us, and we’ll do the rest. Introductory price of $40.00. click here for more info. this photo came from the talented two. p.s. you must check out brad's flickr page.

this post is especially for my sisters and sisters-in-law who are tucking in the cutest kids on the planet every night. if i were oprah, i'd be creating these for all of you in secret and sending them anonymously to your houses in big crate boxes labeled fragile. i'm not, so i can't, but you should and say that i did. xo.

I wish I had a hall wall with one of these of each of my kids (as kids) and grandkids. I don't, but someone could.

I just had the silhouette of my husband, done when he was 7, framed. I love and am so thankful that my mother-in-law saved just about everything from his childhood. We decided to hang it in the guest room, which is off the hallway, so really any visitor can see it when they walk down the hall, and his parents can see it when they stay over. It's so sentimental and means a lot to me.

i LOVE sillouettes!! i have made some myself, and intend to make them of my future kids one day. something so simple can be so powerful, and full of memory.
