baby shower for nata
i hosted a baby shower today...
the spread and cute guests
the li'l details
carriage cookie party favors from granite bakery
alli, me and mama to be natalie
after january's friend reunion at the glamorous ikea cafe, we all said the familiar, we should really get together again. and i'm so happy we actually did. we had the best excuse too. today we showered nata with love and enthusiasm and advice for her upcoming baby boy, scott james.
i loved putting together the invites, whipping up yummy food and creating small details for our party. i thought of the garland for my window late last night and with a few scalloped scraps of blue and green paper and a spool of rickrack ribbon, it was a lot of pow for the punch. honestly, you can make one in the time it takes for the Bourne Ultimatum credits to roll. ordering up the favors was also a simple way to add in the love without too much effort; just pick up and wrap up. (i know all too well how it feels to be frosting a huge batch of cookies and have them crumble in your palm.) i was a bit apprehensive about fitting a large group of gals in my house, but it worked. and the company was so wonderful and the help so appreciated. it really takes two to host a good party; thanks for everything alli (dan is finishing off your delectable leftovers as we speak)! we had brunch with all of my favorite brunch goodies: super simple spinach quiche, cinnamon rolls, fruit plate, cheese and crackers, and love bars (my latest peanut butter meets chocolate fix/fetish).
natalie has always been a beauty, but today she was glowing. it is a whole new thing to see your friends pregnant, when you yourself are pregnant too. so fun and graceful she is. and like alli said at the end of the party, we're entering a whole new phase of life; us having babies!
thanks for coming to the party.
let's do it again.

A party at Min's is always so fun! I love the carriage cookies.
CJ and I drove by yesterday and saw you unloading a car, and there were pretty balloons on your lawn. I assumed the baby shower was for YOU...anyway, it sounded like everything was lovely. Love your blog.
Looks like fun! Cute stuff.
You look so cute!
I know that any shower we throw for you is going to pale in comparison...but we will try. Or do you just wanna do your own shower and we'll all show up?!
You know how to party up right- and your attention to detail is one of my favorite things that unfolds on your blog. Could you look any cuter? Looks like a great party, Marta!
Looks like a perfect party. Love throwing showers. Love going to showers. Have a great peanut butter-chocolate-butterscotch crunchie recipe if you are interested. Also started a "locals" post on my bloggy for gals like you and me who are learning about IF. Looking wonderful, you are.

marta,
thank you so much for giving me such a great kick off into my days as a mom. i was so anxious for the baby showers to start pouring. (its just one of those things that you sort of always knew would happen someday, but not really... you know?) and you helped calm all my anxiety with your confidence and ease of party throwing. it was absolutely perfect. thanks again!
looks fun and yummy
