tell me a story.

i love hearing christmas stories at this time of year and thought we might read one to little benji every night before santa claus comes. since we don't have a shelf full of seasonal storybooks yet, i've found a fantastic christmas collection online with a great library full of printable pages. it is also a tradition to read the true christmas story from scripture. snuggle in and read the nights away. christmas is almost here, i can barely believe it.

happy weekend. enjoy the holiday hustle and bustle. i know i will. i'll be making my final stop to the post office, tying up ribbons, delivering satchels of clementines and getting the stocking stuff stocked. i have one more batch of cookies to make, another party to attend and a little mischief to be done. the last drops of christmasy tunes will be blasting in our home like it will be in yours. i am looking forward to a simple christmas in our new town, just the three of us.

Hi I recently came across your blog and love it. You have awesome ideas and I wish you weren't sold out of your mini diary, my sister would love it. Guess I'll check back next month to order some. Well hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.

When I was growing and even now Santa would leave a new Christmas book in addition to his usual offerings. We always read it first thing, even before stockings which was and still is my favorite part of Christmas morning! I'm 28 now & my parents have a large collection of Christmas books which I take down each year!

I hope that your little family forges some lovely Christmas traditions this year!

I give myself a new christmas picture book every year. My favorite is "Wombat Divine" by Mem Fox. I love your blog & Benji is so very cute. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

My favorite Christmas story is one my mom told me about my Grandpa, her Dad. He always had a dark mark on his cheek. Mom always told us we had to be in bed early on christmas eve & to NEVER, NEVER try to stay awake or sneak downstairs. She said one Christmas Eve when my Grandpa was a boy, he snuck downstairs & surprised Santa who was placing packages under the tree. Santa was so startled that his pipe flew through the air & struck my grandpa on the cheek... leaving that mark!

our favorite will be a hard one to find, but so worth it if you can snag it. "Red Ranger Came Calling" written by Berkeley Breathed. a great laugh and a sweet message to boot. we love a great story around here, too! thanks for the link.
