DIY cd sleeve
today is do-it-yourself thursday. here we go with something oh so so easy. since none of my clients live within 100 miles of where i'm located, i do a lot of transactions online and sometimes, if i'm lucky, via the mailman. however, i am the kind of girl who has a stack of blank cds with no jewel cases on hand, ever. luckily i am never low on paper, so i've patented a diy cd sleeve that gets the job done in minutes. no frills. no fuss.
i like to call it, easy peasy cd sleevey.
slice your card stock down to 5 x 10 inches. any hefty paper will do, you can even get cutesy. make two sleeves out of one adorable 12x12 sheet. throw on some glitter, stickers, and stamp-it-up with whatever suits your style.
fold your paper exactly in half. use a bone folder to make a nice crease. if you have never heard of a bone folder, run to your nearest art supply store and buy one. you will love me for it. then you will be one step closer to becoming a Bookbinder's Apprentice in paris.
on the opposite side of your bone-folded crease, use a circle punch and punch only a half moon through one layer of paper. if you can manage this tricky maneuver, you get three gold stars for the day. the leftover half moon can be recycled for something brilliant like a journaling spot for your latest scrapbook page or a pretend mustache for your two-year old.
now seal the two sides, leaving the half moon edge alone. this is the perfect excuse for happy tape. be sure to attach your business card too. if you don't have a business card yet, please attend yesterday's seminar. if the CD contains images, photographs, or design files for a client, with your information handy they will know who to contact immediately with any questions, concerns or wild praise.
tuck in your burned CD, a written note of instruction and send it on it's merry way.
easy peasy cd sleevey.

brilliant!
Could this be any more of a coincidence that I am sending out a CD today but have no more CD sleeves! You read my mind. Thanks Marta.
love this project - thanks Marta!!
love this idea and fun tutorial! plus, these are so much cuter than jewel cases.
thanks marta! this was one of my favorite entries to date!
i love this! in my high school years, i often made my friends music mixes and made sleeves almost identical to these! i left flaps on the side to glue rather than use tape. tape is so much easier, though!
That's beautiful! I know of a few people looking for something like this for weddings. Thanks so much, I'll be linking to this.
Great idea! We never have CD sleeves either...
these would be great for wedding videos!
