just looking

presidents' day means taking the trio out + about. we might look for a new sofa. and when i say look i mean just that. (dan has taught me the art of window shopping.) after waiting this long, i have high expectations in our future perfect sofa. therefore i realize this may be a thickly forested vigorous hunt, similar to frodo's. or should i be using the term couch? i can't decide which word is more charming. anyway, i am hoping just looking at sofas is possibly as fun as just looking at farm animals.

have a happy p day.

Definition of sofa: an upholstered seat for more than one person

Definition of couch: a couch is a generic term, usually North American, for an item of furniture designed to seat more than one person. Typically it will have an armrest on either side. Couches are normally found in the family room, living room, den or the lounge. They are covered in a variety of textiles or in leather.

*photos were taken last week on our typical sunday farm road drive.

I daresay that around here the hunt will be brief, but not necessarily fruitful. I wish you better luck than I have had!

Those horses look so charming. My husband's goal in life is to one day move back there. Maybe someday I'll too be that close to cattle. :)

Good luck with the couch hunt! Envious of anyone who has a husband with the day off today.

not that my opinion matters... but I like the word "sofa". It sound elegant and perfect and discovered. The word couch sounds slouchy and handed-down. Hope you find your sofa soon!

Oh here in England it is almost always a 'sofa' and I love looking for a new one, such great fun to try them out!
Those animal shot are amazing Marta, were they taken this weekend - do you have snow at moment?

I love a squishy couch. Sofas sound stiff and solid.

i too am in search of a new couch/sofa marta. if i have to sit on my nasty crap craigslist purchase/send me into back surgery thirty years premature couch for one more month i'm going to scream!
i suggest "window" shopping at homemakers if you have one there in idaho. they give you free cookies and lemonaid. its like a fun mini date that you can have with your little man on a weekday afternoon. it just mixes things up a bit.

i spelled lemonade wrong. yes, i majored in english lit. sad.

Love the animal pictures, Marta!

...And to add my two cents, I prefer "couch." It feels more relaxed, comfortable, and home-y. Sofa sounds stiff and too formal to me. Whatever you call it, I hope you find a nice one soon!

Those horses are beautiful. What breed are they? They remind me of when the Budweiser horses came to my parents home town. They blew me away.
Where will you shop? We loved a couch at Room and Board but it turns out we couldn't get it through our door in our New York City apartment. Thankfully we figured that out before we bought it and got one from Johnathan Adler instead.
