a whole new world

when dan asked about my switch from blogspot to dot com i couldn't exactly articulate why it was of importance to me. i suppose it's all about making baby steps out into the big wide world. or should i say shaping my own little world. having ownership of a space, putting my stamp on it, making it legit, becoming official. having the confidence to attempt staying power. after all the talking i did during the blog & business workshop, i hope to walk the walk too.

i love this little happy spot that i get to create inside everyday. am realizing as i've been doing some fixer uppers around here what matters about the blog, what doesn't and what really shouldn't matter but seems to (like comments that are currently missing in action). am trying to prioritize, put first things first and to be an overall better person. and in this land, that means, a better blogger. thanks for following me into this newish space. lets go chart the uncharted. join me for a blog hunt tomorrow.

{i've been collecting & sending quotable cards since i was in middle school. i am thrilled when i find one i've never seen before. a great vision for a black & white quote card collage with dozens of these cards has been imagined for years, just have to find the right spot for it.}

stay in the loop. please update your martawrites feed subscription via your favorite reader or sign up on my sidebar for an email subscription. much appreciated.

I collect quotes too. I scribble them into a moleskine for safekeeping. And I send them out to friends and family on hand made cards.

And I totally get you on the dot com. It is a big step, but somehow unexplainable.

I love all the new things you are doing here. I was excited to come back from my trip to Israel and find that you had a workbook for your blogging workshop you had a couple weeks ago. I ordered it up and am planning on sitting down today and reading it. I feel like I don't want to restart again until I have a better plan and decide where I want this blog of mine to be going.

I also have dreamed of a quote wall.... it is made up of mismatched colorful frames, with all my favorite quotes......still not sure if I want all the fonts to match or not...in my head it is beautiful! My parents had a beautifully framed quote on their wall that i memorized b/c I saw it so often. It wasn't until I was married with children that I actually "got" the meaning. I love that it was important enough to them to hang it in a prominent place.

Congratulations on dot com!!!!!

My bloglines haven't updated any of these posts! Even though I've got the new feed, the mean people at bloglines aren't keeping me in the loop!

I'm taking it back into my own hands and checking you manually, until they win back my trust.

Congrats on the switch! I know what you mean about claiming your own space with your own domain name - I felt exactly the same way when I moved to a .com. It's a small change, but somehow it means a lot.

Congrats! I am in the process of doing this even though I don't have very many dedicated readers...yet.

Having your own .com instead of blogspot is like no longer having to share a bedroom with your little sister. I totally get it!
Congrats!
