HOW-TO REFINISH AN OLD DESK

here are some easy steps to create a cute custom piece of furniture for your own home!

1. hit up your local DI, goodwill, thrift store or garage sale.
2. go with an open eye! don't be intimidated by it's first appearance.
3. look for "good bones" - sturdy, no or few missing parts you can replace, size, etc...
4. purchase it and don't look back! you can do it!!
5. clean it off with clorox wipes or a wet paper towel.
6. sand all surfaces if needed.
7. pick a paint color. be daring!!
8. depending on the wood & finish you might need to prime your project.
9. paint 2-3 coats of your daring paint color, until you are satisfied with the color and let dry!!
10. replace old hardware with new hardware.
11. for an extra touch, decoupage pretty paper inside drawers or even outside too!
12. welcome your new piece into your home!!
