bloglines shuts down

sad, but true. say goodbye to bloglines forever. i just had to jot a message real quick to my darling readers and warn you. if you're still perusing all of your favorite blogs through bloglines, beware. come october 1st, all your daily reads will be gone-zo. meaning, you need to switch your rss feeds to google reader el-soon-oh. or else. read more here. and for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, no worries. don't fret. you're probably all the better off since you aren't swimming in a sea of unread rss feeds.

a fun weekend plan. make the switch and break up with bloglines with the help of my tutorial.

I just heard today, so sad. I too loved bloglines. Thanks so much for the link to the great and funny post about breaking up with bloglines. I think I will like google reader though, it's not as pretty. But I should anyway thats where my email is and a bunch of other things! My only thing is trying to figure out how to get all my clippings saved.

I already exported all of my blogs, but I'm really bummed, because I just can't handle the google reader interface. I never, ever remember to look at blogs I used to like. Unless they're on bloglines. It's just lots easier for me to see what to read. Oh well.

To all of you who don't like google reader that much:

I actually never used bloglines so I am not aware of the interface. I am not a big fan of the google reader interface either. So I use feedly - well it's actually based on google reader but it's kind of an add-on for your browser and it makes your reader easier to handle and look so much better.
Take a look at it and see if you like it, too. www.feedly.com

Thanks for the tutorial! I saw that bloglines was shutting down, but I didn't want to figure out how to make the switch. You made it simple.

I hated how Google Reader looked but FeedDemon made it much better. it is a program you can have in your computer and it pulls all the feeds from your google reader. I have truly learned to love it :)
Sorry about randomness, was just reading up on some sewing tutorials and decided to comment for a change...
