march into a month of possibility

this past weekend was full of good things.

// saturday i went to hear an incredible presentation by relief society general president, julie b. beck. she spoke to thousands of women in rexburg, idaho about faith, priorities, prayer and more. she answered questions from the audience and i took mad notes. (everything she said, i needed to hear!) i plan to re-cap what i learned in an upcoming post.

// catalogue ripping and tomato soup. my tip of the week is to make canned tomato soup with milk, adding a whole clove of garlic while it heats up on the stove. remove garlic and serve. seriously a whole new gourmet-ish take on tomato soup. was anyone else shocked to see home theater seating aka lazy boys in the latest pottery barn magazine? their easter ideas are always my favorite. i want to cover something in moss right now. i spent some time wondering about and dreaming of decorating a future house. it seems daunting and exciting all at once.

// the oscars. i dabble in and out of the oscars. but i always love to see what everyone's wearing and what they say at the moment of their big moment. my faves were colin firth's speech, the color of jennifer hudson's tangerine dress, all the guys who brought their moms, reese witherspoon's ponytail, the king speech director's acceptance speech listen to your mother, and mark ruffalo's wife's short bob and bangs (yay). i especially loved seeing katy perry sing with the children's choir on oprah's oscar special.

// we also have a new favorite favorite television show on sunday nights and i seriously look forward to it every week. (it's what i call a total boy show.) it really deserves a post all its own.

//  the skies are blue again and the river has thawed. spring is coming, i can feel it. i can't wait for sunny weather to take cloud photographs again. i found this snapshot (taken last summer) during a little computer clean-out.

// today is going to be good. i woke up to my happy boys, read some board books together, remembered my dream last night (which i love) and devoured a few favorite blueberry muffins.

happy tuesday // happy march first.

whenever i feel like there is nothing blog-worthy happening, a list always comes in handy.

Is the new favorite show Top Shot? All the boys at my house are loving it and I'm slightly addicted too.

That little blurb at the bottom of this post says it all. Sometimes I think I don't have a thing to blog about and I think, "oh well. I'll just tell everybody exactly what is going on." Works every time.

I took a glimpse through the PB catalog just yesterday and was surprised to see the theater seating..

And, can't wait to hear the Julie Beck round up.

I'm dying to cover something in moss, too. we should attempt this together. And I'm pretty sure I could smell Spring last week; reports of robing sightings are making me optimistic. otherwise, well, stupid robin.
