ikea run. / the christmas section is better than the cinnamon buns.

it's gray and rainy out. the heat is on. the family is wearing hoodies. productivity is happening in this household! we went to costco and ikea today. like eddie, my hairdresser said this morning after telling him our plans, wow, you are living the dream girl. yep. indeedy. the building shelvery project is in full force. thank goodness i live with someone with upper body strength.
i must say that the ikea christmas section was a very tempting area. tons of pretty things that i don't need at the moment; big light-up stars, norweigan patterned dishes (a decanter wishing for egg nog) and napkins, of course, and much much more. someone go hog wild for me. what about you? big plans today? happy weekend-ing.
p.s. have you seen the popular expedit bookcases are now available in glossy gray?! am loving them. but we're sticking with ever versatile white around here.

I picked up some red and white napkins and a table runner last week. I wish I had bought some red and white fabric for a tree skirt.
Happy building shelves this weekend!
I've never thought to shop at IKEA for Christmas decor. It'll be on my to-shop-at list once we finally buy a home to decorate. ;)
Loving you family portraits. They are charming! And I think your hair is darling in all the pictures! I wish my hair "phases" were like yours!
I was so excited/surprised to see all the christmas decor out at ikea yesterday. I wanted to go totally crazy and I would have if it would have been a solo trip. Thank goodness for my practical husband. I did leave with three rolls of festive wrapping paper.
I so need to make a trip to Vancouver, so I can hang out at IKEA all day! I love IKEA. And if they've got Christmas stuff out, I'll be one happy girl!
That gray color is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I totally saw you! I might have even said hi, but you were in a van leaving and Dan was driving, and we were in our car just leaving as well. I said to my husband, hey, that girl looks JUST like Marta from this blog I read (you know, he's not into blogs, what a weirdo...) and turns out it WAS you. I must say you are even prettier in person. Haha. So funny that you posted about it because now I know I'm not, in fact, crazy and it was you!
Both Ikeas we have visited are a DRIVE away. (Near both sets of parents.) Maybe when we go visit my parents to see the leaves in Ga we can pay Ikea a visit to see Christmas yummies- I had no idea. Thank you for the enlightenment!
I was there two weeks ago and was loving the Christmas section as well. Nice to know about the glossy gray...I'm getting ready to paint my Expedit bookshelves that exact color!
