free shipping on mini diaries and a little giveaway

the mini diaries are turning five! the idea for a simple paperback diary came to me on a morning bus ride into work one day. i printed a few pages at work and the mini diary was born (and hand-bound) in my little apartment way back in 2007. the fill-in-the-blanks were my idea of a simple way to capture up the details of the day without too much effort. they have been a best-seller in my shop ever since (special thanks to you)! over the years i've added more pages, included a collection of catchy cover designs and have left the fun fill-in-the-blank pages the same.

as a mother's day spring special, i'm offering free shipping when you purchase any two mini diaries. enter code: MOMANDME at checkout to receive the discount! if you'd like the party of five pack, your free shipping is automatic (no discount code required). this offer is good in the U.S.A. only and is available until may 1st or while supplies last.

click here to see the full collection of mini diaries. thank you for supporting handmade!!

p.s. comment on this post to enter to win two free diaries; one for you and one for mom. tell me something awesome about your mom, your grandmother or why you love being a mom. happy weekend! this giveaway closes tonight at midnight.

As a mother of an 8 1/2 month old boy, I love seeing him develop his own character (such as unmistakably demanding that green pen back that he was allowed to hold for a few minutes, but which then was put back on the desk).

My mom is awesome for TONS of reasons - but last night, at around 11:30 PM, as I sit cross legged on my kitchen floor cutting out paper bunting details, I was most thankful for the "love of creative" she passed on to me! I remember growing up seeing her do similiar things late into the night, when the inspiration struck and she had just a few minutes to whip something up before bed time. I am happy to have a similiar late night habit!

Oh, how wonderful these mini diaries are! I love my mother because she raised me on her own and made it look swimmingly easy. And now that I am a mother, she is always there to listen, offer sound advice, and take the kiddos for a special ice cream...just like my own grandmother did with me. I love being a mother because it has opened the world up to me, again, as an adult. To see life through my children's eyes is absolutely amazing, inspiring, and humbling. Thanks for the generous giveaway! Happy Weekend!

love these diaries! So lady-like and pretty. I love my mom because she would love something like this. We have such the same taste and I love that we can shop together...

I love these.

I have had three miscarriages this year. I'm one of four children, but the only one that's begun the process of family building, or tried to anyway. In spite of my losses and even though there are no living grandchildren in the family, my mother still calls herself a grandmother, and that means everything to me.

I've been coveting one of these mini diaries for a while...

I love my mom for instilling in me a firm foundation of faith. I grew up knowing that I could count on her to walk the walk. She is a great example of being valiant in her testimony and relying utterly upon the Lord.

One reason my mom is awesome is that she makes great oatmeal bread. It's so good that my 5-year-old told me this morning that "Grandma should go in a contest of whose bread is better." He thinks she would win. :)

My mom is ALWAYS there for me, of course, but what I appreciate the most is - If I'm having a bad day and I lose my patience with her, she understands and forgives me without a fuss. A simple apology and we are right again without guilt or drama. I REALLY appreciate that. It means a lot that I can be my real self with my mom and know that she will love me for what I am, imperfect.

Ahhh! I love your mini diaries! I love my mom because she is the best example of a mom. She gives way beyond what I would expect. And I love being a mom because it's just the best job I could ask for.. and waaay better than I expected! Happy early Mother's Day to you Marta!

Both my mom and my mom-in-law are so inspiring. I've watched them battle and win against breast cancer with grace and faith. I look up to them so much!

there are many reasons why I admire my Mom, one of them being that she has been a dedicated runner for as long as I can remember. I remember her waking up early to run, then coming home and getting all us girls off to school. I never realized how important running could be until I was a mother myself. not only is running therapeutic - to be out early in the fresh air, chatting with dear loved ones, but because I have a body that can. now I am a mother to a son with cerebral palsy. he is walking, but I am not sure that he will ever be able to run as fluidly as I could, if I got into shape. so, now I run (well, jog) with my Mom. I love this time to be with her, she is encouraging and just what I need. and I love that although it is not easy to be a mother to a son with special needs, he has taught me the importance of what a healthy body is, and to not take things for granted.

thanks Marta!

i don't think we ever truly appreciate our moms until we become a mom. being a mom has made me even closer to my mom. and i love seeing the way she beams when she sees her grandson!

my mom is the absolute...everything to me. she is the strongest female i know. after being a child of divorce and going through one herself, she picked herself up, found the church, my dad, and raised her son, and had me & my sister, and became just this even more incredible person. she is everything to me...my role model, my best friend, and a spiritual giant. she has taught me that you really do anything you put your mind to through hard work and determination. i can only wish to be half the mom, woman & person she is...truly.

you too, marta. you seem like a fantastic mama. i still feel like such a newbie, but i really love being a mom. (well, most days. today, my little 16-month-old is nursing a double-ear infection & a virus and she is just pitiful. as much as i am enjoying the unusual snuggles-she is not one to snuggle- i miss my feisty ball of energy! still, i have learned more about sacrifice and god's love than i ever thought possible. (and learned it through my miscarriage this past january as well.)

god bless through this pregnancy. my thoughts & excitement are with you.

My favorite thing about being a Mom is the nightly routine I have w/ my Autumn Bottom. We read a few scriptures together, say prayers, sing a song, and then give each other butterfly kisses on the cheek. She has such long eyelashes that it tickles and we always end up giggling, which I think is the best feeling for my ♥ bug to fall asleep to. Thanks for such a fun & generous giveaway.

so many amazing things about being a mom. i think some of the greatest moments are when my soon-to-be 3 year old tells me "I love you so much, mommy" and gives me a kiss on the cheek out of blue. But, I also love that he is excited to have a baby brother coming in a couple months and loves to sing him songs.

My mom is awesome because she worked to get a law degree and work in the 70s when so few women did it and then choose to stay home with me and my siblings once we were born. It's been a huge factor in my choice to get a college education and then stay home with my kids while they're young.

I'm going to order some for my YW, Min. They deserve a little Mom-to-be gift I think. Not only that, it's a treasure for their kids in the future! Thanks for the great deal!

The awesome thing my mom does & grandma did, is write things down. I treasure words of the past...I think there's no better way to really get to know an ancestor than to have their handwritten soul on a page. Thanks to them, i have journals & blogs for progeny to come.
- one day when we're old I'm getting the Sistas together for a Sista Journal Readthrough. Maybe when we're 75 or something?

My mom is amazing in so many ways...as most moms are!!! She's helped me with two kids, helped her husband through cancer and a son through neck surgery. She's rescued me on so many occasions that I've lost count! She lifts me up when I'm down and gives me a reality check when I need one. If I can be half the mom she has been, I will be successful! Thanks for the opportunity to share thoughts on Moms!!

My Mini Diaries have long since been filled out. I'd love to win a new set for my mom and me.

It is almost cliche to say this, but my mom is my best friend. I talk to her almost every day. But, one thing that I truly admire about her is her positivity. She always has something nice to say. And gossiping? It would be wasted on my mother. She wouldn't even listen.

One of the things I love about my Mom actually involves your mini-diaries. I gave her one last year sometime and every once in a while when we are talking on the phone she will read me an entry or two from her diary. I love hearing her tell about what she loved on a particular day and it gives me greater insight to who she is and what she values. It has been a really fun exchange and I'd love to give her another diary as I know she has filled the last one. Plus....I'd love one for myself. Every time I buy them I end up giving them all away because they are such fun little gifts.

some of my favorite things about being a mother include:
-when my 21-month-old runs up to me with arms open wide, as he declares: "hug!"
-watching my 3.5-year-old daughter mother her little baby dolls so sweetly and tenderly.
-listening to my almost-5-year-old explain to me why he has to grow up, even though i repeatedly tell him not to. (grow up, that is.)
-feeling baby #4 (Cupcake) wriggling within me.
-watching my children playing happily together.

I love my mom because she's always been 100% supportive of everything I've ever wanted to do in terms of my dreams/goals. I'm sure there were several things from my teen years that she was most definitely not supportive of but she let me learn from my mistakes with grace.

My favorite mom moment of the week was taking my baby for his first bike ride! He loved it! Today, we went again, and he fell asleep on the way home. I stood in the sunny yard with him sleeping in my shoulder and though "I have so much to be thankful for."

My mom is awesome because she more than a friend... she is a loving mother. She has always been there for me (both physically and emotionally). I recently got married and moved 1000 miles from my parents and haven't been able to talk with my mom as much as I would like. But I know our relationship will be as strong as ever, no matter the distance.

One of the best things about becoming a mum is my own mum becoming a grandmother. I've never seen her so happy. There's a vague familiarity in her cuddles and games and songs that must come from old memories from when I was a toddler. I feel some sense of pride in having had a role to play in creating the lovely relationship between my mum and my daughter, although I really had very little to do with it. How could they not love each other from the start? They have the same eyes, the same hands, the same sense of humour and I love them both more than I can put into words.

thank you for having this giveaway. I love those diaries!

My mom is amazing. Just this week my 14-year old car decided to quit. Called my mom in tears, and she reassured me. The next day, she wrote "I put money in your account" and she sure had (from her retirement savings... sacrificial giving). I was able to get another (new-to-me) car the next day. She deserve a nice little something for being a great mom :)

I've only been a mom for 14 weeks, and the amount of love I already feel for this little guy makes me realize how much my parents must love my brother and me. It took having a child of my own to really understand and appreciate a parent's love.

Once when I was that inbetween age of really going all out for a Halloween costume and "it's not cool any more to go all out for a Halloween costume"... I sat crying on my bed the night before the big school parade! Nothing was right/good/working. The next morning my mom shows up in my bedroom with "the queen of Hearts" costume made from one of her old formals (that had been hiding somewhere in her hope chest). Now that's a mom for you!!

I keep looking at these cute mini diaries and meaning to buy them! Maybe I will win two instead! If not, I am going to buy some...promise! They are too cute and I love the idea of writing prompts.
My mother died unexpectedly in January. So of course, I am flooded with emotions and memories of all the great things that made her my mom. All I can say is, she was always very encouraging and positive to me. I am a 'new' mom and it was always so nice because my mom wasn't like the others (who always dispense advice - that I didn't ask for). No, she would listen to me, and she always had an encouraging response. I think her best advice was to trust myself as a mom because "you know more than you think you do," and to always be happy for my babies, because a happy mom = a happy child. She obviously lived those words (she had 10 kids!) and we are all happy and blessed because of her.

My mom never went beyond 7th grade. She has always been very self-conscious about any public writing that she has to do. I think this would be very special for her to do some writing that would be just her own personal thoughts. Her 10 children are grown so she now has the time to do the writing too!

I love that my mom has always been supportive of my dreams. She always found a way to make things happen so I could accomplish my goals, even when she was a single mom and didn't have much money. I love that my mother showed through example how to find happiness in the small beauties of the world around her. It is because of her that I stand in awe at cloud formations, or the gorgeous mountains or delicate spring blossoms.

my mom is completely focused on serving others - out of necessity rather than choice, but she never complains. she has had my sister & her four kids (1 special needs) living with her for 2 years. she cares for her mother-in-law for hours every day, a mentally ill sister, and spends 4 days a month out of town to take care of her own father. All this while faithfully serving in callings & working 2 days a week!

I hope I never have to be as unselfish as her, but I know she'll completely support me if I do!
