high school reunion

oh happy day. blasting my music all the way down the freeway, i was so excited to see my dear old friends from the old days. my old self always comes back and i was super glad to be together again and see the best friendly faces in the world. i don't know whose grand idea it was (mine) to meet at the ikea cafe for lunch on a saturday, but it was a bit ca, ca, ca crazy. though it definitely took us back to standing in the cafeteria line at school, where we all became besties anyway. everyone is just the same, which is comforting and a bit hilarious. everyone is a lot more beautiful too. am so so glad we could get together for the catching up and the lingonberry juice. like the lady says, it'll change your life.

blonde bombshells: natalie and allison.

mamas: melissa and mary and their li'l darlings.

mary, kyle, alli, me, nata, alisa, and melissa

a very happy day winding through the maze of ikea with my favorite friends at my side. and this last one is for kyle, who scans something every day on his blog. here is my scan, a photo of me at the summer crash-up derby with my freckles and a whirl of pink cotton candy.

oh wow, i love reunions with old friends!!! they are full of magic. i love how you feel as if time didn´t pass at all, as if you just saw everyone the day before! as you say, everyone is more beautiful and yet, they are the same at heart!

What fun photos and what a reunionpalooza!! You've all stayed so cute, which is important. It would be awful to be the one everyone whispered about when you left. Congratulations on moving on, yet embracing the past. Make it a tradition...every year after new year's day!!!

old friends are great.
but so is cotton candy.
they can tie for the top of the list of great things.
i think.

Anyone who uses the term "besties" is a favorite in my book.

Your mom puts it best when she says, "congratulations on moving on, yet embracing the past". It's awesome to know that the past with all of you has been the fuel for the future.

How wonderful to reunite with old friends. Isn't it funny, how you can always pick up exactly where you left off? Happy for you!
