co-pilot

every sunny saturday it seems, we go on an adventure. since saturdays are no longer for sleeping in, we get an early start on the day and go for a drive. benj is a dream baby when it comes to travel. he is so congenial, cheerful and mellow. dan has mastered the art of the mini road trip. here are some of the best shots. dan says i'm the co-pilot. but since he's more the map guy i mainly focus on the photography aspect. that and the divvying up of the road trip treats.

Beautiful pictures! I know the feeling of not sleeping in - we have a 14-month old! It is nice to get an early start to the day, though...sometimes. :) Do you mind sharing the names of the fonts that you used on the photos in both of today's posts? I love them! Thanks!

I grew up in Sun Valley, ID--now I live in Seoul, Korea. Your photos made me homesick for the first time (wah, but thank you!).

wanted to comment on Writing Down the Bones....that is one of my favorite writing books. You MUST also read Brenda Ueland's If You Want to Write...you'll get so inspired/frustrated, you won't know whether to keep reading or pick up a fancy pen of yours...another one I love is also by Natalie Goldberg called Old Friend From Far Away, about writing memoir...there are wonderful random prompts that you might love for your Write Club...

Your pop can pictures have inspired me to de-lurk. I grew up in Idaho, and now that I'm far away in North Carolina, I really miss it. After my second year of college, I came home to Blackfoot for the summer and found a job working for a painter. He and I spent several hot August days painting tanks just like these at different gas stations. I love showing them off to my kids when we go home to visit.
Thanks for the great post!

Glad you're enjoying our Idaho as much as we natives do!

hee hee, I've seen those soda pop cans, too. Can't remember where, exactly, but on some little day trip around here. And the sign with the arrows: adventure is a highly relative term, don't you think?
