a bit of a bio :: I'm a stay at home mom of a sweet little boy. I love nature and love "bringing nature" into my home through decorating. I first made this little fabric tree as a keepsake for my son and the idea grew from there. I started making "family trees" that have the parents names or initials hand sewn onto the tree with the children's names underneath. Each tree is personalized to your specifications and hand sewn by me. I also have a sale going through May 1st for Mother's Day. Free shipping and buy two trees for $40.

thank you meg! please visit her blog + shop.

I've inherited my grandparents positive outlook on life. They are immigrants from Germany, who rolled up their sleeves, came to America, started their own company.

Their positive outlook on life never ceases to amaze me. Everyday they wake up with a purpose and a vision; always leaving positive energy wherever they tread.

I've inherited my parents' stubbornness, which is both good and bad:) Of course, it seems my daughter has inherited the same trait, so it looks like I'm going to get what I gave!

I inherited my mom's high cheekbones and pretty much everything else from my dad. The older I get the more I see my mom in the mirror. I love it!

I can pack a trunk for a road trip like a great big puzzle where EVERYTHING fits even when it seems there is not room for one more thing. My mom was great at this and good thing, too, since she had 8 kiddos to take along!

Lovely, lovely trees!

these trees are amazing.

The joke in my family is that I am my dad re-made into a girl. When I was about 13 years old we compared me to a picture of him . . . it could have been me in the picture! I have similar quirks and a similar personality as he does. It is fun to tease him when one of the "less desirable" traits comes out.

The family trees are so cute!

Corby said...

Long spindly fingers (from my mother). Great for (pretending) I play the piano!

Becca Groves said...

I know this is more nurture vs. nature, but I've inherited my mom's absolute fear of snakes. And if I have one goal in life, it is to make sure that I DO NOT pass this on to my own kids.

These trees are stunning. I'm now going to hop over to her site. Can't wait to see more...

Oh I love the family trees! So perfect for Mother's Day!

I definatly inherited my Dad's work ethic. I grew up in a blue collar family, and my dad worked his butt off to make sure that we never went without anything and not once that I can ever remember did he ever complain about the hard labor or long hours. I'm lucky now to be able to stay at home with my kids, but when something needs done around my house, a friend needs help, or the oppertunity to volunteer somewhere I do it without arguement or complaint.

My mom passed away before I had a chance to know her, so it always takes me by a very emotional surprise when people that knew her tell me how much I am like her, not only in looks, but in character as well.
It is something I am proud of.

I inherited my dimple in my chin from my Dad. I also passed it onto my beautiful daughter. The first thing I asked the nurses when she was born was "Does she have a dimple in her chin." They said yes, and it's huge!

oh my, these trees are absolutely the greatest things on the planet! love them!

and oh my goodness I have so many traits from my mother. in fact, they say I was a little carbon-copy of my mother when I was growing up (looks-wise, not sure about personality-wise). and it sounds weird, but sometimes when I look out my own eyes, I feel I know how my mother sees the world because it's as if I'm looking out hers. I think it's because we have so many similar features, if that even makes sense. oh, and I also got her tender-heart trait, which really just means that I cry about anything and everything. every strong (and sometimes not so strong) emotion that I feel comes out my eyeballs. slightly embarrassing sometimes :)

Erin {pughs' news} said...

I love that family tree and oh! How I want it on my living room wall!

A family trait that I've inherited is my grandma's love of handwritten letters. I write to everyone, all the time, the old-fashioned way.

i have inherited MUCH from my mother. . .LOL. . .most of it good. we both have this uncanny knack to not use things we like too much - as in , if I use this pretty paper to make something - I won't have the paper anymore - so I'll just save it. . .

These are beautiful! Love the idea for mother's day.

I inherited my mother's hips, they're gigantic! (At least mine are, she's only 5' and a hair) But I also got her narrow ribcage, so I know no matter how much weight I gain, I'll always have a waist. Hurrah! I also got a good dose of goofy from both my parents.
