city creek center opens downtown salt lake city
opening day at city creek provided all the hype it has been boasting all this time. while living in idaho i missed downtown dearly, it is times like these i feel so good to be home near the wasatch front (and near a brand new H&M). i might add, the H&M does not disappoint; with a sweet section of maternity and plenty of kiddie clothes. gina, it was so nice to bump into you!! toddler in tow, we barely scratched the surface yesterday. city creek has so much to offer! the crowds were typical and the only line we waited in was one for ten minutes outside the disney store (at which point benji asked if we were in disneyland). have any of you been yet? what did you think!?
p.s. i'm working on some big projects (can't wait to reveal them!!) and am gearing up to send them to the print shop. last night i had a nightmare that one bride's wedding invitations came back from the print shop all in times new roman font, no elements of design added. i woke up in a cold sweat. hilarious that these are the kind of nightmares we graphic designers have. happy weekend everyone.

Oh looks like a nice shopping center with lots of outdoor space!
We're starting spring break off the right way, headed down to SLC!! I'll be shopping at City Creek in just a few hours...so excited.
It's a dream of mine to bump into a favorite blogger in real life...Hey you going to city creek again today? ;)
Yay! I can not wait to go! Your pictures make me want to brave the crowds and head there this weekend. But that would be saying a lot... seeing how much I loathe big crowds. :)
p.s. your dream was hilarious! I love it.
Oh man, I lived in the Avenues years ago when this project started and I have been waiting a looong time for its completion! My husband and I are contemplating a road trip from Boise to check it out. Love your pictures. It looks like a wonderful shopping oasis!
I also love how the grand opening corresponds with General Conference coming up. :)
I met Jason at his office in SLC yesterday for a pre-screening of the hunger games. I was so tempted to walk up the street to see the new City Creek center. We're going to be up there again tonight for the Jazz game. Maybe I'll be able to talk my husband into a little shopping. It looks wonderful!!
that looks amazing! can't wait to check it out next time we visit my in laws!
H&M has a maternity section? That's the best news I've heard all week! I was at City Creek for the opening too, but we didn't do any shopping, just more enjoying the atmosphere and people watching. But since I work across the street from the new Nordstrom, I think I know where I'll be spending my lunches for the next few weeks!
Oh, wow, it's open?! Gosh, I know what I'm doing when I come to town in a couple of weeks. ;)
I was not aware that H&M had a maternity section... I'm gonna need to check that out.
Also, your nightmare made me chuckle. That would be a horrible thing to have happen for real! :)
can't wait to see it with my own two eyes.. i have dreams like that all the time too, only my camera doesn't work and i'm late to a wedding! aahh!! the anxiety.. :)
I was registering voters down at City Creek yesterday evening and the crowds were insane so I didn't go into any of the stores. The H&M looks awesome.
i'm getting so excited to go!! can't wait to check out h&m. my bro-in-law actually works there as a security guard, so he's been having fun braving all the crowds :)
I am jealous! My sister Liz went, I might have to make a road trip down - H&M would be worth it alone!
I'm not about to brave the crowds especially with a newborn but I'm excited to go. Maybe in a few months when i dont sit around in pjs most of the time! It looks awesome. Ive never been to a H&M store ever... can you believe that!?
I'm so jealous! Being a native of Sweden, I certainly have a soft spot for H&M and would love to live near one store. It easily gets addictive though. My favorite section in the past was always LOGG (label of good grades). Nautical, slightly conservative, a lot of stripes and cute denim. Something tells me it would be right up your alley too!
How nice! I'll have to head up there sometime. Beautiful, beautiful pictures by the way.
It looks so lovely! Hard to imagine the old days of having Chik-fil-a at the food court in the basement of Crossroads Mall :)
Living in Northern Idaho, I rarely get to Salt Lake (not counting airport layovers). I'll certainly have to check it out next time I'm there, though!
